No. He was thrown out of heaven for rebelling against God and trying to take over the kingdom of heaven. However, you're right on one point. This created the avenue for free choice.

@GraceFromEP: I respectfully disagree. God is an energy of perfect love, not a "he" but I understand why it's personified. I also believe that when God decided to create us, separation came into play. And the energy of Lucifer expresses as our shadow side.
@Peaceful: I appreciate your thoughts and position on this. The reason I say God is "male" is because he is referred to as the male gender many times throughout the Bible. I can give a lot of examples with scripture to back that up, if you'd like. Jesus and His Father are not "it's". They are people. Satan, also known as Lucifer, Beelzabub, amongst other names, is a real person, too. Matthew 26:26 is just one of many verses that states Jesus was a man.
