Sounds lazy, not having to take any responsibility yourself.
Gloomy · F
@pillowprincess The toxic part is people will credit God for all the good things in their life and blame themselves for all the bad
@Gloomy
Exactly, it's a construct of a power hierarchy. People will be kept passive, not questioning those at the top of the hierarchy that take advantage of those with less. Even more, those in power can use the belief of the masses to create false narratives where anyone different, from what's being preached is going to be attacked as enemies that are a threat to their life.
Axeroberts · 56-60, M
@Gloomy that is because they don't know the nature of God and reality. They believe God is here to change reality
Axeroberts · 56-60, M
@pillowprincess it is about things beyond our control. It's not about doing nothing and hoping for something.
Gloomy · F
@Axeroberts No one knows the nature of God since it's a made up construct in which everyone reads their own biases into.
Axeroberts · 56-60, M
@Gloomy you will never know
Gloomy · F
@Axeroberts Neither will you it's pointless the only discussion worth having on the matter is how destructive the idea of God is.
Axeroberts · 56-60, M
@Gloomy I would imagine I am a bit closer than an atheist
@Axeroberts
It sounds like another round of excuses for doing absolutely nothing.
Gloomy · F
@Axeroberts of course you believe that but you are as close as possible to your own idea and ideals as everyone else is to their own.
Axeroberts · 56-60, M
@Gloomy and your point is?
Axeroberts · 56-60, M
@pillowprincess if you choose
@Axeroberts
If I choose what?
Gloomy · F
@Axeroberts That everyone who believes in a specific ideology or religious branch is closest to this. I am for example closer to socialism than any conservative or I am closer to secular humanism as any religious person. You are not closer to something divine just to a mandmade set of believes from which you derived a personal one by changing it to fit your bias.
Axeroberts · 56-60, M
@pillowprincess to use it as an excuse.
@Axeroberts
It's my interpretation of your comments, yes.
