Do you ever ask God forgivness for your sins?

I realused last 30 days I was fasting that I never ever properly asked God to forgive my sins. Think that I am almost 40.

Maybe I was always thinking God is all forgiving and mercifull and he will forgive me. But never thought of actually asking.

Last 30 days thats what I did every day. Maybe this is the key for happy life.

I ask God to forgive me of my sins most every day. Sometimes we can sin through pride, arrogance, selfishness, any number of things...and not realize it. I think it's important when we pray, to ask God to forgive us of our sins. It speaks of us having a humble heart before God, and wanting to do His will. But don't do it if you're not actually sorry. It is also good to start my day new and fresh, without those sins still on me. God knows when our hearts are sincere, and not wanting to sin.

@LadyGrace I pray every night like this: Our Lord, do not condemn us if we forget or make a mistake. As you said we do sone sins without knowing.

@jacklost1983 You're too hard on yourself. He's not that hard on us. All we have to do is say "Father, forgive me of my sins, in Jesus' name. Amen." He is more than willing to do so and he does know our hearts. Contrary to belief, he's not waiting around to beat us over the head with our sins, every time we make a mistake or sin. If you said that centers prayer, you're already forgiven, guaranteed. Nothing can separate us from the love of God.
