Do you ever ask God forgivness for your sins?

I realused last 30 days I was fasting that I never ever properly asked God to forgive my sins. Think that I am almost 40.

Maybe I was always thinking God is all forgiving and mercifull and he will forgive me. But never thought of actually asking.

Last 30 days thats what I did every day. Maybe this is the key for happy life.

Always it seems and never forgiven. I have accepted the fact that I am going under....either way.
@caesar7 Then you have accepted the complacency of the devil's lie. There's no reason why you can't be forgiven, and are, when you ask God to forgive you.

@LadyGrace God will do with me as He pleases when that day comes. If He truly exists, he will judge me on my existence and performance on Earth. So be it.
@caesar7 Don't make the mistake of believing that. That's what the devil wants you to think. If you read the Bible you will see that God does not judge on our existence or performance on Earth. There's things you have to do and participate in to make certain things happen. Not just leave it to chance. If you leave it to chance then you'll miss heaven. That's what God's word says and why would you want to leave your own soul to chance? You'll definitely not get to heaven that way because God said so in His Word, not because I said so. I don't want to see you go through that. Eternity is an awfully long time to get this wrong and we can't afford that, none of us. God has a plan of salvation that we need to follow if we're going to make it to heaven. If we leave our life and souls to chance, and do nothing, the Bible says that sin will keep us separated from God. God gave us a mind so that we can make these choices. Not leave them to chance.
