The Lie: God Sends People To Hell - The Truth: God Grants Those People Their Hearts' Desire

Again I ask:

Those who choose to die in their sins, choose hell over a loving God. Where's the logic or reason in that?

The Truth: It's God's desire that none of us be lost but all come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Oh yeah...I'm just dying to spend eternity in a fiery pit.

The good news is that you don't have to. God is not willing for any of us to be lost but to come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. The choice is still yours.

@GodSpeed63 Yeah, I get it....so why are you brow beating this non-believer?

@originnone
Yeah, I get it....so why are you brow beating this non-believer?
How am I doing that?
Sharon · F
@GodSpeed63 Spend an enternity in "heaven" surrounded by self-rightous, evangelical, christians? No Thanks, I've had enough of them on Earth!

@GodSpeed63
How am I doing that?
Do you really not know or are you just being deliberately ignorant?

@Sharon Sharon, at this point, just forgive him....it's actually kind of sad....

So you have no idea of how I'm brow beating you? It figures.

@GodSpeed63 If one of us tried to explain it, you would ignore us. If you're really interested, ask someone you consider to be objective to see if you are leading this person to Christ....

if you're offended by the Truth of God, you deal with it. No one, not even me, can change what God has established to be the Truth. You can either accept the Truth of God or you don't. But don't be like Sharon and others like her to get an ulcer for trying to change the Truth of God. It can't be done.
Sharon · F
@GodSpeed63 I'm not offended by the truth of anything, including the truth that your god is nothing more that a figment of your imagination. I do find your contintual lies about it, and your attitude to all those who don't buy into them without question, a bit offensive though.
originnone · 61-69, M
@Sharon Now I have to defend gospeed a little. You don't know that there is no god any more than he knows that there is.
originnone · 61-69, M
@GodSpeed63 Truth can be presented in an aggressive way or any number of other ways. Your way will drive people away from the truth.

@originnone
You don't know that there is no god any more than he knows that there is.
I know that my Redeemer lives, certain of it. His Spirit of Truth lives within me.

So, what's your story? Let's reason together.
originnone · 61-69, M
@GodSpeed63 I believed I was a devout/born again/washed in the blood of the lamb/saved and sanctified christian for many years. Part of me still is. You may call be backslidden if you knew me. I just don't really believe it. I don't think there is any god the least bit involved in my life....I don't believe there is an afterlife or anything good will ever happen to me. I want to die now but I can't due to my responsibilities. If there's life after death, I want no part of it. That's my story....You asked; I answered. I won't respond again....

I can understand where you're coming from, I've often felt that way myself. Paul wrote about this situation in Romans 7 so you're not alone, my friend. I'll be praying for you.

In the same way as none of us know The Flying Spaghetti Monster doesn't live. Is that really a good reason alone to believe It does?
originnone · 61-69, M
@Sharon meh...I read Dawkins' book too. The spaghetti monster isn't really a good argument against a god who encouraged loving your neighbor. That said, it's also hard to believe in a personal god who hasn't seen fit to end the personal suffering of so many....I mean...if you were a loving god who is all merciful, would you do that?
Sharon · F
@originnone Which of Richard Dawkins books have you read? I've only read four of them thus far.

The Flying Spaghetti Monster is a much more benevolent god than the christian one and, by Godspeed's arguments, as he can't prove the FSM doesn't live, he must believe that It does.
originnone · 61-69, M
@Sharon I can't remember honestly. I do remember taking exception to a lot of what Dawkins said. It think he's angry and bitter, so I'm not a big fan of his. That doesn't really make me believe anything else, but the spaghetti monster things was pretty over the top. There's no reason to insult people who believe just because you can make an argument....
Sharon · F
@originnone I find Richards Dawkins' writing style quite pleasant. Have you met him? He's very easy to talk to as well. I don't find him angry or bitter at all althought, considering all the hate maile he's received from christians, I could well understand if he were. He's published some of it in at least one of his books, possibly The God Delusion but I'm not sure now.
but the spaghetti monster things was pretty over the top.
What do you mean that? There is just as much real evidence of the Flying Spaghetti Monster as there is of any other god. Maybe the universe was created by the FSM - can doubter prove it wasn't. Maybe it was created by Odin from the remains of the Frost Giants -
There's no reason to insult people who believe just because you can make an argument.
I agree. It a pity christians don't. Even their bible claims those who don't believe in their god are fools ( Psalms 14:1)

I presume christians follow the doctrine of "Do unto others..." Therefore, when they insult others there is an implied request that others insult them. Maybe they're trying to make the prediction in Matthew 10:22 come true. I'm happy to accede to their request in that endeavour.
Sharon · F
@originnone You can listen to Richard Dawkins reading some of the hate mail he's received here - https://www.buzzfeed.com/bradesposito/dawkins-m8 You can see his attitude to it too.
