The Lie: Christianity Is A Religion - The Truth: Christianity Is A Relationship

27 Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world. James 1:27

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. John 1:1-5

10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. 11 He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: 13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. John 1:10-13

23 Then Jesus spoke to the multitudes and to His disciples, 2 saying: “The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. 3 Therefore whatever they tell you to observe, that observe and do, but do not do according to their works; for they say, and do not do. 4 For they bind heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. Mathew 23:1-4

13 “But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men; for you neither go in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in. Mathew 23:13

23 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone. 24 Blind guides, who strain out a gnat and swallow a camel! Mathew 23:23 & 24

27 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness. 28 Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.
Mathew 23:27 &28

As you can see, man made religion is good for nothing and only does more harm than good to people. A relationship with God through Jesus Christ by His Holy Spirit will do more good than all the man made religions put together.

so...you don't worship god?
@originnone How did you conclude that, after he said this: "As you can see, man made religion is good for nothing and only does more harm than good to people. A relationship with God through Jesus Christ by His Holy Spirit will do more good than all the man made religions put together."

@LadyGrace I read the definition of a religion. You might do the same.

@LadyGrace I did answer your question, but he didn't answer mine.
@originnone He will. He's been real sick.

Do you?

@GodSpeed63 Sorry to hear you've been ill.

Please answer my question before asking me the same question....
@originnone How about you answer my question, which you claimed to do, but didn't. So have the same consideration for the poster of this post.

@originnone
Please answer my question before asking me the same question....
What made you ask such a question? Didn't you read any of what I posted?
@GodSpeed63 Exactly, and that's why I asked him the same.
@originnone
WooooooK....Let's try again....Your question started with how I "concluded" something. I haven't concluded anything; I merely asked a question based on the dictionary definition of a word....and just so you know....no one ever successfully "tricked" anyone into the kingdom of God. If you don't succeed with your current technique which is the equivalent of a clanging bell, you might try some of the ones described in I Corinthians...
.

I'm not surprised you resort to baby talk, given that's the way immature trolls talk around here. That's their usual attempt at condescending behavior or when they only wish to argue. Looks silly on you. Too bad you don't know how to carry on a decent conversation without unnecessary sarcasm, and you certainly can't read. Pay close attention, I'll help you out. Given Godspeed's every post is obvious that he believes in God (where have you been?) and then again in this post, it couldn't be more plain, that he believes in God, we both simply asked what part of his post made you question whether he bellieves in God or not?

It might help if you would read his posts before commenting. They couldn't be more clear, as to his relationship with God. Here's another thing. If you expect a reply from us in the future, then grow up and conduct yourself as an adult and do try to reply as such. We don't entertain nor engage with childish demeanor here. Go ahead. You might be surprised how well things flow for you.

@GodSpeed63 You guys amaze me. This is why people can't stand christians.

@originnone Godspeed doesn't answer questions, he expects eveyone to accept his BS without question. Typical christian.
originnone · 61-69, M
@Sharon It sounds like he wants to present he's some kind of Jesus with a small j. Jesus often answered questions with things like "It is you who said it." or "Who do you say I am." It's a common method of self aggrandizing. "I state all the facts but won't answer anything because you might actually present me with a challenge that will make me just a mere human...."

@originnone
so...you don't worship God?
Religion has nothing to do with worshiping God. He desires that we worship Him in deed and in truth rather than religious practices.

@GodSpeed63 I'll give you credit; you answered my question. I disagree, but I won't argue ...just a difference in how we define the word....

@originnone
Jesus was not self aggrandizing:
Jn 5:19,30
...Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the
Father do...
I can of my own self do nothing...I seek not my own will, but the will of the Father which has
sent me.
