The morphing of memories of past events

Just thinking of how the actual meaning of past events in our lives can in fact morph and change according to how the present unfolds. Add a touch of a non-linear expression and experience of Time and various "realities" open up. Me, I don't actually look towards any final consumation, more that the journey itself is home. But thinking of any finality, it can become apparent that if the teaching of many of the Early Church Fathers of Christianity is true and there will be a final "restoration of all things" (where even the Devil himself will be redeemed) then it becomes a possibility that even the darkest events in human history - and in our own particular lives - will be able to be reinterpreted/understood in another light.

Obviously all hogwash to some minds, yet I am always convinced that there being something rather than nothing actually implies significance to existence, and that all is not simply a "tale told by an idiot signifying nothing".

Of course, the doctrinaire, the "one wayers", many of the self-proclaimed "true Christians", will reject any such thoughts. Their own "consumation" will be an eternity of double destinies, they themselves in bliss and joy while in another eternal realm billions will cry our with the gnashing of teeth (!) In perpetual torment. And they - the perfection reached of "loving their neighbour as themselves" - will not give a damn. Free choice of course!

Yet the only true freedom, that which truly sets us free, is the radical freedom of God (Reality-as-is) which is given as gift. Shared. Not divided.
