I looked this up. It seems the Government of the State is involved and not the federal government though the NAS is involved.

I was in Washington state when Mt. St. Helens erupted. Nature is awesome and devastating.

Not to sound like a smart ass but is this a federal/ federally funded project? Because if it is there is some serious hypocrisy going on! I guess the environment will be protected when expedient.
