On Satanism

Satan saved my life. Not that he is an actual deity but in a spiritual sense, as a concept and a literary figure he did.

The world can be a cold place full of hate, violence, intolerance, ignorance and greed. In order not to die on these heights of despair we need hope and love. Two things the Christian god cannot offer! There needs to be darkness so that there can be light. Lucifer, the bringer of light, symbolizes the hope in times of despair and not the evil lurkin beneath us.

He taught us that our sins are just part of our human existence and that we can strive to do better and stand strong instead of trembling in fear of god.
He taught us that only through rebellion we can be our true selves and embrace who we really are.
He taught us to seek knowledge and wisdom.
He taught us to love ourselves and value no god higher than ourselves and our loved ones and fellow human beings.

I follow Satan because:
• Satan represents vital existence instead of spiritual pipe dreams.
• Satan represents undefiled wisdom instead of hypocritical self-deceit.
• Satan represents man as just another animal who, because of his “divine spiritual and intellectual development,” has become the most vicious animal of all.
• Satan represents all of the so-called sins, as they all lead to physical, mental, or emotional gratification.
• Satan represents love instead of judgment and hatred.

Ave Satanas!
Hail Satan to all of you!

One of the things I keep saying to theists (on this site in particular) is this; If God is so perfect, why, according to the "book of His word", does he resort to acts of violent, destructive. genocidal rage? That is supposed to be the [c=800000]good [/c]guy? Satan, I guess, has a temper, but the rage that is written about in"holy" books is not the most attractive of attributes of this god thing....

@jackieash Anyone who reads the bible can see that, according to that book, Satan is the good guy. Most christians have never read the bible.
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@jackieash God didn't do the bad things. People with Free Will did.
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@HoraceGreenley God forced free will upon them. He also didn't want Adam and Eve to have knowledge of good and evil.
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@Entwistle The Bible is full of allegory. There can be no good unless evil also exists. Without evil, man is a mere automaton.
jackieash · 26-30
@HoraceGreenley God "gave " people "free will". ...as long as people did as they follow him. "Worship me...or else!" followed by a wave of genocidal rage. Not much free will, is it? Demamd obedience on pain of utter destruction....
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@jackieash That's not how it works. There can't be love for God unless people have the choice not to love God. That's the point.

You are missing the essence of what Free Will means.
jackieash · 26-30
@HoraceGreenley "You have free will as long as you worship me....if you don't, watch out". Doesn't look much like "free will" to me, Horace. More like an abusive relationship. I wouldn't put up with anyone treating me like that, in this world or the next one....if there is one, that is...
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@jackieash Like I said, you don't get it
jackieash · 26-30
@HoraceGreenley That's just it....I do get it, and I reject such things completely.
HoraceGreenley · 56-60, M
@jackieash Whatever
@Sharon Though many Christians are not well-read in the Bible, Satan isn't the good guy...
Sharon · F
@SomeMichGuy Obviously you haven't read the bible either. From the descriptions therein, Satan is a much more benevolent entity than god.
