What is the biggest mass illusion there is, in your opinion?

That we are somehow always on the right side of history, on the right side of what ideology we think leads to better future, that we cant be easily fooled, that as long as we can cite some expert, that our friends feel the same, that it was written in some book, that we dont have to find the answers ourselves, that we dont have to have an open mind to the perspective of those who disagree with us, that there is some dividing line between good and bad when applied to *normal* people, that somehow we personally and collectively have evolved to a more advanced place spiritually and emotionally than those who came before us, that we somehow feel safe under the evil umbrella the power structures of those who claim to represent us and our values, for it is so good at showing us the evil of those who think different, have lived in different places, have had different friends, look different, talk different, wear different color hats, that we aren't mirror images fighting ourselves constantly, that the reason we cant live in a better world, isnt because we just can't destroy, or silence, or control, or escape the emotionally derived violence, selfishness, and ignorance of others, but because we cant bear to face our own weaknesses, fears, and limitations. This is why we will always get the world hunanity has grown so accustom too that seems inescapable, for that world is the world that lives deep inside us all.
