I wonder if christians realize the bible celebrates terrorism. Suicide to achieve mass murder. [Spirituality & Religion]

Even aside from the isrealites killing every man, woman, child and animal when they invade (which is guess could be considered just an act of war) i'm referring to samson and the philistines where he kills thousands of people while taking his own life.

Christians equal new testament.. not the old...

@SkyMike

Oh, you'll find samson is celebrated in the new testament. The world is not worthy, or something to that effect.

Not to mention christians seem pretty eager to take the parts they like from the old testament but claim the stuff they don't was for the jews.
I mean the ten commandments are great. They love noah and mosus and are pretty fond of parts of leviticus but whenever it gets distasteful it's all "oh well christians are all about the NEW testament".

Mosus? I can't take you seriously if you can't even spell

You have many posts about the Bible and Christianity so I am curious - what are your beliefs?

And i can't take you seriously if you must resort to using spelling errors as an excuse instead of responding to the real subject matter

Quite hypocritical you are considering you couldn't answer my simple question
MetalGreymon · 36-40, M
@MrMagic:

Please explain how it is hypocritical of me to criticize your puerile attention to spelling rather than the focus of the post.

Maybe i would be more willing to answer your simple question if you hand't begun in such an intellectually vapid fashion

I see you've reached for your thesaurus to try and impress me. You do amuse me 🙃

@MrMagic:

If it comforts your ego to think so then by all means believe it.

What I see is that you've no ability to engage intellectually on the subject at hand and seem far more concerned with "winning" the conversation.

I'm afraid you don't amuse me.
Please return to the subject matter or stop wasting my time.
Last chance.

Sky Mike....There were more than a few references to keeping the old testament laws mentioned by Jesus...
The line, if you accept to swallow the story, isn't that clean cut as Jesus is New Testament..
SW-User
It does not celebrate terrorism. People lived for hundreds of years then, we don't now. People had many wives then, men don't now. There are plenty of differences and details which can be picked apart if everything is taken literally. Did Adam have a belly button? The commandments speak for themselves, more specifically the one saying you shall not murder

Yet again I will ask, what religious views (if any) do you have?
MetalGreymon · 36-40, M
@MrMagic:

Well by the time of samson men did not live for hundreds of years. And yes, the bible DOES celebrate terrorism. Again, aside from the instructions to the isrealites by god to kill every living thing when they invaded, samson is a hero of the old testament AND the new.

I'm atheist

@Distancerunner: what are they? but you won't say, because they aren't there...

@UnparalleledMonster: you don't even know whats mentioned..damn, you're just trolling...hahahaha
MetalGreymon · 36-40, M
@SkyMike:

Sorry, what do you mean by i don't know "whats mentioned"?
SW-User
you mentioned something that was said in the bible, but didn't know what it was.. do you read what you write?
MetalGreymon · 36-40, M
@SkyMike:

i just don't know to what you're referring. Could you just say explicitly what your talking about?
MetalGreymon · 36-40, M
@SkyMike:

Are you talking about when i paraphrased the bible quote?
I can give you chapter and verse if that's what you're looking for...
SW-User
@SkyMike: ok, I studied history some theology and philosophy on the undergrad level...don't start to paint with too wide of a brush..
I have no intention of arguing with you..but if you want to lose sleep look at Matthew 5:17-19...
Be well! I am out..
MetalGreymon · 36-40, M
@SkyMike:

hmm nothing to say anymore.
i guess your forte is more snarky comments than actual discussion lol
SW-User
@UnparalleledMonster: about what. I said what I said.. and I don't keep dealing with idiots.
SW-User
@Distancerunner: stop it... if you studied it, you have a slew of quotes at the ready..
SW-User
@SkyMike: I found science a long time ago. ..

You don't know me, or my background...
I don't have to prove anything to you...that said, I offered a reference , and that clearly isn't enough for you..

It follows that nothing I say will move any of the needles for you.

A professor I studied under years ago told a class I was in that it is not our responsibility to unwrap anyone's " spiritual package"..
I can't convince you of anything..and won't try..

That is an exercise you must find on your own...

@SkyMike:

You said what you said and when you were shown that you were out of your depth, you turned tail and ran. You took shelter in my not understanding your backhanded criticisms but when i deciphered your babble and showed you i could back it up you fell suddenly, tellingly silent.

You are objectively wrong about christians only paying attention to the new testament and furthermore the new testament DOES hail samson's actions.

So when you say you don't keep dealing with idiots, what you're plainly saying is that you know you're outclassed but you must above all else save face.

lol adorable.

Of course you could try to prove me wrong through intellectual discourse.
But i think we both know that's not your strong suit.
