Do you think Putin might be an Atheist?

My Dad has suddenly started hating on Putin to a crazy amount because he has caused chaos financially 😯 and also the war thing.

I looked Putin up and he has done other snake stuff too so is there a chance that he might be an Atheist?

Putin is Russian Orthodox

What would atheism have to do with his actions?

@newjaninev2 According to most of the Christians on here, only atheists can do bad things. So obviously Putin has to be an atheist 😂

@Bushranger Such a simple life! 😂

In fact, a christian has just invaded a sovereign country and is currently murdering men, women, and children.

"Putin's mother gave him his baptismal cross, telling him to get it blessed. Putin states: "I did as she said and then put the cross around my neck. I have never taken it off since”"

@newjaninev2 Thanks for your excellent research on this topic!

Atheists do bad things?🤨

Um, Crusades much?

Or how about the Spanish Inquisition?

@Bushranger
@newjaninev2 What would being Chrisitan have to do with his actions? Killing old people...kids.......just to reunite countries that have grown past the Soviet Union...so he can have a "legacy"?

@AbbySvenz People do bad things, beliefs or lack thereof. To make the claim that Putin must be an atheist because of his actions is ridiculous and should be called out.
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@anythingoes477 I agree, but what would being an atheist matter, either.
@Bushranger Generally.......a Christian will show compassion. Love for his fellow man. Even the Russian Orthodox Bible says to harm a child is something to receive eternal damnation for. NOTHING Putin does when he invades shows he is Christian.
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@anythingoes477 Atheists have also been known to have compassion and love for their fellow humans. The point is, Putin's religion or lack thereof, is totally irrelevant.
@Bushranger newjaninev2 · 51-55, F broke that ice..........not me.

@anythingoes477 The problem with online discussions like this is that context is often lost. If I misunderstood the intention of your post, then I apologise.

The OP opened the gate with the assertion that Putin must be an atheist. NewJannine was pointing out the fallacy in that claim.

@anythingoes477
shows he is Christian
That’s the No True Scotsman fallacy.
