I buried myself in that book for years. One part of me is redeemed and sanctified while another part of me calls it middle eastern mythology. It is, in my opinion, the world's most fascinating collection of books, but it also seems like primitive superstition, and has a lot of similarities to Sumerian, Assyrian, Babylonian, Egyptian, and ancient Greek religious texts. The first question for me starts with the concept of divine omniscience and Genesis 6:6. I know that God is omniscient. (I 'do'believe in a supreme being.) but the words and actions of 'Jehovah' as described in the bible from Genesis to Revelation do not reflect omniscience. It seems more like a patriarchal character imagined by scribes in a patriarchal system. The politics of God, seem a little too conveniently aligned with the politics of men. In my opinion, to put it bluntly, to call the bible the inerrant word of God, is to say that God is fallible, because the bible itself is flawed in content and accuracy.

Its not flawed. It has more to do with your inability to understand.
@Zonuss: You clearly cannot understand why other people do not believe in that book. Tolerance, Zonuss, tolerance. Isn´t that what the guy in the New Testament preaches ? Why don´t you do it ?
@Zonuss: Just for a quick example. Judges 1:19. It states plainly that God wasn't strong enough to defeat an enemy because they had Chariots of iron.
or how about the aforementioned Genesis 6:6? How does an omniscient being ever experience 'regret'? Or how about Cain? A marked vagabond and "wanderer" in the earth takes wives and builds a city...etc etc etc

@puck61: He regreted creating humans because they became extremely evil and filled the earth with violence. Every mans thought and intentions was bent towards evil. Every one and it broke His heart.
@Firechidist: How can an omniscient being "regret" anything. You don't seem to be seeing the point. Omniscient precludes the ability to regret a decision.

Cain took many wives that doesnt mean God approved of it. Gods intention for marriage was always one man and one women. Those who choose otherwise is their choice. God does not force a mans will because a loving Father does not control his offspring. God allows them to make their own choices. But he doesnt prevent the consequences for them

It wasnt because God wasnt strong enough. That is not what judges 1:19 said
@Firechidist: A "fugitive" and "wanderer" in the earth. Takes wives and builds a city. What happened to the "fugitive and wanderer" part?
@Firechidist: "And the LORD was with Judah; and he drave out the inhabitants of the mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron."
It isn't?

Its right in the Bible

''You have forced me off this land today. I have to hide from you and become a fugitive, a wanderer on the earth. Now anyone who finds me will kill me!” So the Lord said to him,

“Not so! Anyone who kills Cain will suffer vengeance seven times over.” The Lord gave Cain a sign so that anyone meeting him would not kill him.
Genesis 4:14‭-‬15 GW

So God declared it will not be so because if anyone who tries to kill Cain he will suffer vengance 7 times over and he received a sign so anyone who met Cain would not kill him. That is why he was able to settle in a city. God showed mercy to him.
@Firechidist: You don't seem to be following the syntax of the sentences in the paragraphs that I keep showing you. Where is the fugitive and wanderer if he was a successful business man who built a city, took wives and became the father of generations and trades?
