What place today is given to false prophets and heretics!! [Spirituality & Religion]

The heirs of Simon Magus still undermine the Truth of the Christ which is preached by those who are heirs of Saint Peter and the Apostles. There are so many cults, which claim they have the right take on Christianity, or they have replaced it as the True Religion, be them Scientologist, Branch Davidian, or even Sunni or Shiite!

With the Son of God establishing the Truth of all why would there need be any further prophets? Even a Mohammed, a Joseph Smith or a Charles Taze Russell? There are so many who get above themselves and think themselves greater than the Christ and any scornful of them get branded with reactionary hatred!

Heresies have pervaded since the death and the resurrection, since the Pentecost baptism of Spirit wherein the powers were given Jesus' disciples to go preach, heal and baptise. The Roman persecution later became an acceptance which changed the world one and forever!

No persecution of anyone is meant here, but there are documentaries on the History Channel from which these events and questions arose and the debate will continue until the End of Time! No shame is attached by some believing one thing over another, but an opinion needs to be arrived at otherwise the confusions continue!

So true. It's not about religion, anyway. Salvation has nothing to do with religion. It is about a personal relationship with God. We don't need fifty thousand gods when we have the one Almighty God, maker of heaven and Earth. Take religion out of the equation altogether, and what do you have? You still have the world in need of having their sins forgiven, no matter who they are, or how they've lived. That is the common denominator, and God the Father, both approved and appointed Jesus, as our only Mediator between God and man, to be our Savior. He also said that we are saved by grace, through faith. Nowhere in John 3:16 does it say we have to work for our salvation. That's the whole reason God the Father brought us rescue through His Son, from the condemnation sin brings on mankind, or Jesus' death would not have been necessary, if we could save ourselves. If God's grace needed man's cooperation, it would no longer be grace.
