As far as the Bible authors are concerned, the "world" was limited to the tiny piece of land they inhabited, primarily in the Levant.

The area experienced a number of floods, over the centuries, and some were totally devastating. Few to no Dinosaur fossils were found in the Levant.

What occurred in the rest of the world, is not known to them. We rely on science, to estimate what happened, and there have been some mega floods. Try for instance looking up how the Columbia River / valley formed.

@Northwest I trust that the Bible is Gods word because of the fulfilled prophesies, and knowing Jesus personally. He saved me when I was 7 years old. That's when the Holy Spirit came into my heart and I was changed, I saw how Holy God is and myself as a sinner needing redemption. @Carazaa I am more on the side of Carbon dating.

@Northwest Carbon dating is not foolproof, like Gods word.

@Carazaa
that’s just plain foolish.

The Aztecs, the Egyptian and the Chinese empires were there at the time. Didn’t seem to notice anything . A year under water , and they didn’t get damp.

You’re being silly . Several civilizations existed at the time of the great flood. They kept records, census , taxes, construction, that kind of thing. You seem to mistrust scientist, but what possible reason could there be for these records to omit the end and destruction of their entire culture ? The arguments about the dinosaurs is stupid enough. But a plot to hide the end of the world from human history is insane. There is no way you can explain that away. What possible reason could there be ?

@DocSavage China has records and a rumour of a global flood at the same time. But you must understand they all died except 8 people all over the world. Only Noah his wife, three kids and their mates survived and this was almost 4000 years ago during the stone age, a few generations after Adam and Eve had to leave the garden of Eden. We have more information about the Bible than Shakespear. You believe Shakespear lived? Well Noah lived.

Now you’re really going off the deep end. One tale of Adam and Eve , is found on clay tablets centuries older than the Bible. Adam was thrown not out of Eden, but out of Ishtar’s orchard for stealing apples. He landed on earth, bleeding and broken. The goddess regretted her temper tantrum, and sent a group of maidens to tend his wounds.
Eve, who he married, was the one that bandaged his broken ribs. What you said is true, we know a lot about the Bible’s history. And we know the fairytales that inspired it. But they are not factual history. The flood is also mentioned in the epic of Gilgamesh. And if you believe it happened, then you should be worshipping Ishtar not Jesus..

@DocSavage Oh you are from Egypt I see!

The tablet and the myth are from Samaria. Ever hear of it ? Ancient biblical name for Israel. You’ve heard of Israel haven’t you ? Somewhere around the Middle East.
They found a lot of stuff there. Like seven tablets, that tell the story of creation. Each, covers one “day” mentioned in the Bible. Including the creation of man , so the gods could have the weekend off.
So if you go by the true religion of the area, the human races fell from grace, for stealing apples from the goddess Ishtar.

How do you like them apples!

I notice you only trust the scientist that support with your beliefs. All the rest are incompetent. You cherry pick everything, don’t you ?
