Once there was a man named Jonah! He was a Godly man so God asked him to go to Nineveh and tell them to repent or He would destroy their city! [Spirituality & Religion]

But Jonah was scared of the Ninevites because they were very violent and mean. Jonah said "What if they get angry with me, and kill me?" So Jonah ran away to a port and jumped on a boat. God was angry with Jonah so he created a storm. Jonah understood that God was angry and he felt bad for all the people on the ship being in a storm because of him so he said. "I have sinned and ran from God, throw me overboard and the storm will stop". So they threw him overboard. He was swallowed by a huge fish and stayer in the fish 3 days until he repented and prayed to the Lord and agreed to go to Nineveh and warn them about the disaster coming if they don't repent. The fish spit him out onto the beach. He went to Nineveh and told them that God would destroy them because of their sins. The Ninevites got on their knees and repented and cried out to God, and asked God to save them from the disaster. God saved them and did not do what he had planned to do, kill all of them. What version of the Bible are you using??? Are you using a Bible or something else?

My Bibles does not say Jonah was a Godly man or that he was scared of the Ninevites..

@Adstar Please read the story carefully.
1. God has told us many places in the Bible that he only speaks to Godly people who fear him, not ungodly, nor hear their prayers!
2. God tells us that the Ninevetans were evil and violen in the story.

@Carazaa All people are sinners.. But changing the scriptures is far more serious a transgression then the sins that the Ninevites where guilty of..

God speaks to sinners.. How else do you think Jesus can save sinners unless He talks to them.. The Holy Spirit convicts sinners of their sins.. So yeah God indeed talks to sinners and evil people.. Just as He talked to the people of Nineivah through Jonah..

@Adstar John 9:31" We know that God does not listen to sinners. He listens to the godly person who does his will."

(John 6:40) "[c=#BF0000]And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day[/c]."

(1 John 3:22-23) "And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. {23} And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment."

Those people who think keeping His commandments is about conforming to the Torah Law and succesfully doing so without failure are making a big mistake..

(1 John 1:8) "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us."

@Adstar Please understand and read the entire Bible so you understand. Once we are born again by Gods choosing he comes into our hearts and lives there and only then God hears and answers ALL our prayers. If we are obedient christians and have a lot of faith!

'GOD DOES NOT LISTEN TO SINNERS" JOHN 9:31

1. God draws us to himself we are not born again yet, and he does NOT hear our prayers but he watches over us because someone prays for us.

2. He saves us, we repent and then we realize we are sinners for the first time

3. We thank God for his goodness and grace,

4. He listens to our hearts desires for the first time because we walk with the Holy Spirit. If we are obedient and do not waver in our faith he answers ALL our prayers. If we are born again but NOT obedient he does not answer all our prayers but siciplines us.

@Carazaa
'GOD DOES NOT LISTEN TO SINNERS"
If that's what you preach and it's true then God should not be listening to you because you are not without sin..

Unless you are claiming to be living a sinless life?
Carazaa · F
@Adstar I am spotless to God, because Jesus paid ALL my sins, I follow Jesus, and I have faith in his word and I live by it! He answers ALL my prayers!
Adstar · 56-60, M
@Carazaa Then if Jesus Paid the penalty for all your sins why are you believing in a teaching that tells people they must be sinless to be heard by God??? Preaching works salvation to others while at the same time believing in salvation by the atonement of Jesus for yourself..

@Carazaa Going around in circles now.. And theology should Never be based on a single verse.. That's where false doctrines have their origin..
