Why is a belief in [i]Jesus and God[/i] more reasonable than [i]tooth-fairies[/i]? There seems to be no more evidence for one than the other.

@ninalanyon I did not say their [i]existence[/i] is any more reasonable than that of any other supernatural being; but I see the [i]belief [/i]in their existence as reasonable.

That is because I realise the primary, common points and purposes of, probably, almost all religions known, hence appreciate why people still believe in them. At heart they seem always to have answered a spiritual (in its widest sense) yearning inherent in humans, notwithstanding that many people would deny having that emotional yearning, or at least find no need to worship a remote and unknowable supernatural entity.

Things like fortune-telling and teeth-fairies are merely shallow games; briefly entertaining but no further than that.

@ninalanyon I see your point as a person who does not know God, it would appear they are all superstitions right? but if we really believe in the Bible we want to abide by Gods words and according to God it is sin to ask anyone but him for help and there is a punishment for that.
