I can't take people seriously who go wittering on about that spaghetti monster

@TheWildEcho That's because you have no way of logically refuting it. Why take those people who go wittering on about some imaginary magic man-in-the-sky (whom they call "Yahweh" or simply "God") seriously? Their claims are no more objectively reasonable than those of members of other faiths.
TheWildEcho · 61-69, M
@Sharon I don't know anyone who believes in an imaginary magic Man in the sky
Sharon · F
@TheWildEcho Are you seriously saying you don't know anyone who believes in that "Yahweh" (or "God") thing? The OP of this thread frequently witters on about it.
TheWildEcho · 61-69, M
@Sharon Yahweh is not a man, he's not magical and He doesn't live in the sky
Please get your facts right Sharon
Please get your facts right Sharon
Sharon · F
@TheWildEcho As I said, she/he/it is just imaginary. It's whatever you imagine it to be.
TheWildEcho · 61-69, M
@Sharon so how do you explain the way He changes people's lives, the way He heals people, breaks addiction and gives people new hope. I'm so glad I've experienced His love and joy and peace!
Sharon · F
@TheWildEcho
There are millions of people who can testify how their (non-christian) god(s) have changed their lives. Are you accusing them of lying?
so how do you explain the way He changes people's lives,
The same way other people's gods change their lives - belief or simple co-incidence. If I lose my keys and call upon The Great God 'X', as "Oh X, where are my keys?" would you agree 'X' exists and has answered my prayers when I find them soon after? You also completely ignore all the time "he" fails to.There are millions of people who can testify how their (non-christian) god(s) have changed their lives. Are you accusing them of lying?
TheWildEcho · 61-69, M
@Sharon I'm not accusing anyone, I'm sharing my experiences
Sharon · F
@TheWildEcho As I said, others can testify to similar experience in respect of their (non-christian) gods. Their experiences and testimonies are no less valid than yours. How do you explain that unless their gods are just as "real" as yours?
TheWildEcho · 61-69, M
@Sharon why do you get so wound up Sharon when I share my faith on here?
Sharon · F
@TheWildEcho Why do you think that winds me up? I'm simply pointing out that others can say the same in respect of their religion. I admit I get a bit annoyed when christians attempt to disparage others' beliefs. Why do christians get so wound up when people refuse to accept everything they say, however implausible, without question?

@Sharon @ozgirl512
That's the trouble with you, Sharon, you keep thinking that believers in Christ is a religion and, after being enlightened that we are not a religious group, you still choose to believe we are a religious group. No one is more blind than those who choose not to see the Truth of God.

@GodSpeed63 No one is more blind than those who deny christianity is a religion.
@GodSpeed63 Religion is 'man reaching for God. Christianity is God reaching for man.' It is a relationship, not a religion.
TheWildEcho · 61-69, M
@puck61 well said!
Sharon · F
@puck61
Christianity is God reaching for man.
If that were true we'd all be christians because your god is supposedly more powerful than we. Of course, there's no real evidence it even exists. All we have are christians claiming to have evidence but, for some reason, are unwilling or unable to present it.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@Sharon
You forget one thing, Sharon, our God is not a dictator.

@GodSpeed63
our God is not a dictator.
Obviously you've never read the bible. If you had, you'd know that claim is completely false.

@GodSpeed63 Anyone who has actually read the bible (with an open mind of course) will know exactly what I mean. Keeping trying, you might get there someday.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@Sharon
I doubt that being that you have no clue when it comes to interpreting the Word of God (Holy Bible). Keep trying or forfeit.

@GodSpeed63 As I said, you've obviously never read it and you certainly don't understand it. Looks like you've lost again.
TheWildEcho · 61-69, M
@Sharon the bible makes it very clear that it's up to us to accept or reject His forgiveness. Where does it say Hes a dictator?
