Not long now before Jesus returns.. [Spirituality & Religion]

@Elessar No we are definitely not in hell... This world is going to get far worse then it is now in the near future and even then it will not be anywhere near as bad as hell..

The last big date which at lot of Christians thought Jesus was going to return was 1000 AD or soon after that time and they where wrong.. As for most of the other times you mentioned most of them where either cult predictions like the Mormons who have made a few predictions that have failed and you mentioned.

2012 was not a Christian prediction at all but one derived from an interpretation of a pagan South American Inca calendar which ended in 2012.. You can dub that one a New Ager prediction if you want..

One of the main signs of the end of the Age and the return of Jesus is that the spreading of the Gospel to all nations would be completed and during these modern times that is close to being completed and the Jews who have been very passionate and successful in stopping the Gospel from being preached to their community has finally been reached due to the growth in knowledge which has caused the internet to allow thoughts to reach people across the world and across cultural and religious borders..

As the Jewish prophet Daniel said about the end times::

3 "And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever. {4} But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased."

Of course we live in an age of mass international travel where many people are flying to and fro across the face of the earth.. In Daniels time most people lived in their local area all their lives and died there.. Only a small elite traveled any distance but often even they stayed within a small geographical region..

@Adstar Maybe it isn't hell for you, and for that I'm grateful, but it is hell for many others, entire populations even.

My country (Italy) is, as you know, primarily Catholic, and I've heard of similar predictions from the most zealous Catholics in 2012 as well.

The Internet exists since the 1970s, there's been internationally coordinated movements whose purpose was sharing knowledge that however didn't reach the population as a whole since at least the 1600s. We're all still here. Think of the masonry, lobbies, movements like enlightenment whose effect is still very noticeable in multiple countries constitution, the U.S. to name one.

Prophets said everything and the contrary of everything, so obviously if you assert both 'A' and 'not A', at least one of the two predictions will be accurate.

Precisely.

@Elessar Oh i hate this world.. I will be glad when i die.. To tell you the truth if it was ok with the LORD for me to suicide i would do it tonight.. I hate this evil world with a passion.. But again this world is no where near as bad as hell even comparing it with a human on earth who is living the worst life in history, Their life is still better then being in hell..

I was born into a catholic family one with a devout dad and a priest uncle and i only missed one mass in the first 17 years of my life.. 10 of which i served as an altar boy on Sundays.. But in all that time i had never read the Bible.. I was given a bible by a work mate in my early 20's and read it and by the time i had made it through the Gospels i had renounced my catholic religion and converted to becoming a Bible believing Christian.. So anything the catholic religion says about the LORD and the return of Jesus has no authority to me..

The Gospel has not been limited by the availability of the internet.. Millions of missionaries have personally traveled to and fro across the earth and shared the Gospel and in these latter times after the age of discovery have been able to share the gospel with very isolated and remote tribal peoples in places like the Amazon and the Congo and Papua New Guinea. But the internet does help the Gospel reach people who have been living in societies / cultures who's elites have been active in the suppression of the Gospel like the Jewish and Islamic societies. The internet helps the Gospel get get under the radar of the Imams and the Rabbis who have been doing their best for generations to vilify and censor the Gospel..
