I think disrespectful is not quite the word here. I say that, because I do not believe that Christians would be praying for anyone, no matter what their faith, to be disrespectful to that person. To me, that shows care. How they look at it, is important as well, so I would hope that they would not be offended if I prayed for them. That's why I would ask first, "Would you mind if I pray for you?" It's never meant in a disrespectful way, but because I actually care for that person, no matter what their faith.
