@Muffin First cause, himself uncaused. That's the formal answer. It is philosophically sound, but obviously not provable.
But what you're asking is the same basic question at the heart of physics and philosophy - where did the prerequisites for the big bang come from? And there were prerequisites if you understand the physics.
Where did mathematics come from? (And I don't mean our human interpretations of it.) According to physicists it didn't come into being at the big bang - it goes beyond physical reality.
