If your a follower of Christ do you find life very painful [Spirituality & Religion]

I do . At times then I act out sin , so its painful either way but I am a believer of Christ and I do my best not to sin .
That's my problem I watch myself to much and get all tense and then sins and then hates myself from sinning cause I'm following Christ.
What's your opinion?

Yes. His life was not exactly peaches and cream either. My childhood dream job was to be a sniper..Seriously. Shoot ppl. Lol Can't do that. Can't do many things. Painful but worth it. I hope.

@SW-User What hurts you so bad to be a sniper .

@riseofthemachine lol This sounds so stupid, I swear..but.. I mean that if I did not know Jesus Christ and that He says murder is sin, I would enjoy myself right now serving as a top sniper somewhere in the army. But anyway. I know what you are describing tho. He ofcourse sees all the effort you are putting into following and battling sin etc etc. We fall all the time. It's natueal. I read in one book that actually those Holy Saints did not become saint cause they became pure perfect sinless angel like humans... they were regular people fighting sin every second of the day...all their life.

@SW-User now your talking . That makes perfect sense . Thanks very much😁😁😁. They were regular people fighting sin every second of the day . At least I know now I'm not not on my own . Thanks

@SW-User what's that book called please ?
SW-User
@riseofthemachine I think you try so very hard then slip....and hate yourself or punish yourself for slipping or negative emotions. We are not perfect by nature. So you will fall million more times. Don't get upset, depressed over it and bever give up.

@SW-User all of that what you explained . Thanks so much . Your after putting my mind at ease .
How do you know that . You read my mind ?

@riseofthemachine I have a lot of orthodox books in Russian, written by famous monks and arch bishops etc. In one of them. I used to think that Saints were some kind of angelic state if a human , impissible to reach, pure and sinless. I don't remember the author and don't want to go and look for it. Some monk was the author and he explained that saints were regular people who spent every second of their life fighting their sin, they devoted their life to this.

@riseofthemachine No, I didn't read your mind. I used to try to watch myself 100% then got really upset about slipping, almost beat myself up over very minimal things.

@SW-User I can only imagine . I had a friend and he met this monk and the monk told him stuff and my friends sins and the monk told him Stop doing it . The monk dedicated his life in a monastery from the age of 17 until he died at 92 . That blew my mind

@riseofthemachine it's very good that you are trying and therefore life is like a battle with yourself...Don't become depressed or lose hope or punish yourself, especially hate. Extremely destructive that can even teansform into a physical disease. It's like walking on slippery ice all the time. You are bound to slip, fall, get hurt...and get back up. Christianity is hard if you really try to LIVE it, instead of just memorizing the Bible from cover to cover. I mean, reading it is also a part but more like a theory and it's not as hard as living it daily.

@SW-User I'm the same . I beats myself up over anything . I thought about ending it and that's being honest . I cant get out of that way with myself
riseofthemachine · 41-45, M
@SW-User thanks so much . You should become teaching with what you know . You'd help a lot of people
SW-User
@riseofthemachine no lol Teaching. I'm not done learning myself...so I can not teach, definitely. I constantly discover how smart, deep and insightful other people are. I have a lot more to learn even tho I'm very happy not to be , where I was 10 years ago.
