Can women be monks? [Spirituality & Religion]

There are females who are monks but they are not recognized by authority. A female activist monk ordained several other females so there are female monks but Thailand prohibited all future female ordinations. So by recognized law, females can't be monks except those rebelling, they're just not recognized.

I think that activist had ordained about 800 female monks.

Monks are really sexist like the Catholic Church, they have the same heriarchies, same male notion of power.

In the 20s or 30s some monk ordained their daughters as monks and it caused such an uproar at the time. Monks don't like women being in their religion.
