The more advanced science becomes the more it seems to indicate the existence of God. Much like archaeology proves the places in the Bible. Funnily enough both the denial of the Bible and the existence of God both came from the humanist rationalism of the 19th century. However as time moves on the humanist rationalism does not stand up to rigorous scrutiny and analysis.

@Emosaur
London and King's Cross Station are real places, does that make the Harry Potter books and movies true?
Those were written by a woman on handkerchiefs. The Word of God was written by God, Himself throughout the ages.

@Emosaur Well since science has proven your ideas wrong I would suggest a bit more humility on your part.

@Emosaur That you are an idiot? You do that all by yourself every time you post a comment. I don't need to prove the obvious.

@Emosaur Do your own research. It will be much more satisfying and it will keep you from being an idiot on here while you do it. Win Win!

@GodSpeed63 The Word of God may be God's but the Bible is no different from any other religion's books - like the Talmud, Q'ran, Hindhu and Sikh texts, etc. it records only the religious beliefs of its human authors and any later editors. Sincere, undoubtedly, but still human beliefs - including the belief that it was somehow dictated to them by their god.

Otherwise why so many different religions and sects, each true to their own followers, but all too often sometimes ridiculously anathema to the less secure followers of their competitors? Which faith is the only "right" one? All and none - i.e. the one "right" in your own view is only the one you choose to be right for you.

However that does not answer the original question, to which I would answer No without needing to resort to needless and ultimately futile attempts to concatenate or divide two totally different things.

They differ because Religion believes in a supernatural being or beings creating everything without worrying how or why; Science asks how it was created / happened without worrying about by what, let alone why.

Hence whilst scientific knowledge may make it harder for an individual to believe in some sort of supernatural controlling force, there is no reason ultimately why you cannot understand Nature whilst still believing in that force creating it, beyond ancient people's opinions on what that same force did.
