True Freedom [Spirituality & Religion]

Galatians 5:19-21

19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

This is true slavery at it's worst.

Galatians 5:22-25

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 24And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

This is true freedom at it's best.

@Entwistle
Sorcery?
What that got to do with walking in the Spirit, in the character God created us to be?
Reverend · M
@Entwistle sorcery could be applied to different things in the occult world. Generally witchcraft.
@Entwistle Literally it refers to astrology- but this context is referring to any forms of divination other than knowledge sent from God by inspiration, messenger or dreams.
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@Reverend Witchcraft and sorcery are bullshit.
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@GodSpeed63 You quoted it in your passage from Galatians.
Reverend · M
@Entwistle well you have nothing to worry aboout then.
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@Reverend I was never worried about it.
Reverend · M
@Entwistle so are you trolling then? If so, hows that tail from your ancestors doing?😉
@Entwistle All witchcraft is: putting faith in man-made things- such as faith in employment/money or the things which can be made or paid for instead of faith in God. Faith in these things are idolatry: worshipping the works of hands. Worship means to submit to or obey. Worship and praise are entirely different things.
Reverend · M
@Anonymartyr True, it runs much deeper then the general thought that comes to mind
@Reverend When the bible said "do not do as the Pagans do." I had to find out for myself what they do- because God warned me that the churches were full of idolatry. I prayed to learn and to be brought back by Him after I had learned. It was an intense 5 year study, after which He sent two people I knew who although they new me for years, never invited me anywhere- they invited me to attend church with them and I knew that He was telling me my lessons were over. I found in that church that Praise itself has become an idol in the churches replacing submission and obedience to Him.
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@Reverend I'm not trolling at all. I wanted your definition of what sorcery is.
Reverend · M
@Anonymartyr makes sense. Anything put before submission and obedience to Christ Jesus is an idol. Ive seen a lot of people suck in the glory from being able to sing.
Entwistle · 56-60, M
Surely sorcery would include hypnotising people into thinking they had seen you rise from the dead or walking on water?
Reverend · M
@Entwistle hypnotism is sorcery as well.
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@Reverend Okay. Even though it's just subliminal coersion?
Reverend · M
@Entwistle considering thebpower behind hypnotism, yes.
@Entwistle Yes. Spell craft and Psychology are the same thing.
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@Anonymartyr Are they? All spell craft may be psychology but all psychology isn't spell craft.
@Entwistle Yes. All spell craft is by means of psychology either performed on self or on others.
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@Anonymartyr Yes I agree..all spell craft is psychology..however all psychology is not spell craft.
@Entwistle Wholesome psychology is in the Bible but is handled as: changing lifestyle to a Christ-like lifestyle, instead of a worldly lifestyle.
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@Anonymartyr That could be deemed as brainwashing.
@Entwistle Brainwashing is not voluntary. Conforming to Jesus is.
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@Anonymartyr And once you choose to conform to it you are brainwashed.
