Do you consider Beelzebub, Lucifer and Satan to be the same character or three different ones? [Spirituality & Religion]

@TimingQuasars Beelzebub is often used as a synonym for Satan, but should technically be a different demon entirely.

@SW-User I mean, it definitely does not mean prince of devils. At least not literally. Beelzebul means "Lord of a High Place", later changed to "Beelzebub" because idk, maybe they thought "Lord of a High Place" was too flattering. Beelzebub means "Lord of the Flies".


Beelzebub was technically a semitic god of fertility, and as Christianity thought worshipping other gods was a big no-no, it got downgraded in their stuff.

@NorthernRoses The Bible is my final authority on it but I did read somewhere outside the Bible that it was lord of flies
