What's the point of praying? [Spirituality & Religion]

For those of you who are religious...Religious views depict God as all-knowing, so what difference does it make if you pray? Wouldn't he already know what's going on?

This post isn't meant to bash religious people (my whole family is religious) , so I'm not looking for negative replies. Just wondering about the mindset behind this. This is something they didn't ever really seem to explain lol

Huh.. let me "try" to explain how I feel. Yes, I believe in the power of prayer.

It's like having a loving one who is in need... as a parent, friend, lover... we are all knowing what would be good, helpful for this loved one. BUT.. they are grown, have choices or maybe rejects any help. sigh... They have to ask at times for help, a solution.

Prayer is asking for help. Prayer is like meditation, like the Law of Attraction.... We are focusing our minds, our will on a particular thing/person. The mind and spirit is powerful. Prayer opens that … line, door to help.

I've reread my words... good luck in understanding, I did not do so well in explaining. It's hard subject to do so. I guess folks have to believe .. to know.
