What Are Skeptics Afraid Of? [Spirituality & Religion]

Want to know the truth from an atheist? While I can't speak for all I can pretty confidently speak for most. And "we" don't give two shits if someone prays to rock as long as they're a good person, don't live a life of hypocrisy and hate the "other." Atheists don't hate god. Atheists don't believe in god so there's nothing to hate. And I'd say VERY confidently that atheists 'hate' things far less than the religious.

And I think it's important to remember that the burden of proof is not on non-believers. Our proof of something like evolution has a scientific method behind it. Just because science doesn't have every answer doesn't negate the answers it does have. The burden is on believers. And because belief is an opinion, your "side" will always come up short in the face of scientific, provable evidence. "It's in the bible" isn't enough.

So what you just did is take the stance that so many take. You're looking to feel persecuted. It's the made up "War on Christmas." Again, the vast majority of atheists couldn't care less about your beliefs as long as you walk the walk, don't tell others how to behave and keep religion OUT of this nation's politics. But it doesn't seem like that's how religion works. Religions are predicated on "us vs. them." "We're right - they're wrong." There's 2 billion Muslims in the world convinced that you are toast in the afterlife.

So don't give yourself so much credit in thinking that atheists give a shit about your beliefs. They/We/Me don't.
