Abu Bakr Al Bagdadhi is dead, but the take away is the children he took with them and what that says about religious zealotry [Spirituality & Religion]

Zealouse religious sects in the middle east and Africa (and other places, but mostly there) live in terrible third world conditions that never seem to change. This is due to many factors, but one important one is the spiritual views often held in this region which compromises the value of this life. Many Jihadist and Jihadists supporters have the goal of getting to paradise on their minds which leads to an indifference to this life and their own families that would normally only be explained by an extreme condition of sociopathy. There are videos of palestinian women who have just got the news of their sons blowing up in a suicide bombing and becoming ectastic about it... this has to stop.

Sure it changes. Any spot in the world would turn into war zone full of religious fanatics if you bomb it for thirty fucking years.

[@712527,AgapeLove] What exactly are you trying to argue? That the 7th century was violent, and 2019 is now also violent, so it's just always been the same?

[@624254,CountScrofula] No, but it would be like if you said that Christians in Africa who burn witches were doing a practice that was only recently introduced into Christianity..... It would just be wrong. None of the radical acts in radical Islam are really new; honor killings, holy war, and sex slavery were not introduced recently. You might be saying that some moderate Islamic nations have seen those practices amplify, which Is true, and if that's what you meant, I don't really have a problem.

[@712527,AgapeLove] Yeah that is what I'm talking about. Obviously violence existed and has always existed.

Lemme put it this way - nobody talked about Islamic terrorism until 9/11. We wouldn't be having this conversation just 20 years ago.
"If only they loved their children as much as the hate Israel."

It's been going on for 1400 years. Islamists attacked the US without provocation way back in 1784, and they gave the same reason then, that they do now.
