Is Anyone Here Born In The Righteousness Of God? [Spirituality & Religion]

I sure wasn't.

Ephesians 2:1-10

1 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, 2 in which you once walked according to the [a]course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, 3 among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

It’s our trust in Jesus that imparts his righteousness into our born-again spirits that makes us in right standing with God. Those who don’t understand this righteousness, which comes from God as a gift, become frustrated trying to establish their own righteousness through good works (Rom. 10:3)

@Silverwings amen! But... once saved we must obey him...

@SW-User I agree , but the good thing about that is that once we meet him, we want to obey him, because we come to know just how much he loves us. Nobody wants to disappoint or hurt those that they love.

@Silverwings That’s true. However as long as there is a devil out there to deceive, some will fall into sin.. We are a fallen people and with that fall, there came imperfect humans. The Bible warns us to ‘resist the devil and he will flee’. He also warned us that if we are lukewarm, he will spew us out of his mouth. The Bible also warns us of a great apostasy... which I see currently.

@SW-User If we have met the Master , we no longer want to sin, there is a difference between loving sin and wanting to not sin, God judges the intents of our heart. Heb 4:12.

@Silverwings I agree whole heartedly... Huge difference!! BUT make no mistake, Christians can and do fall into sin... and it is always ‘their’ choice to do so since ‘Whom the son sets free is free indeed”. And when we do, we MUST repent. “Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.” 1 Corinthians 10:12 Parable of the sower: 20 “But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;

21 Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.

22 He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful”..Matthew 13: 20-22 (To have the fruit of the spirit one must have the master). I do NOT believe sinning Christians are going to go to heaven without repenting. I do believe they can (are capable of) sin and do ...and they must repent as the spirit convicts their hearts!) None of us are perfect yet and make mistakes and err in the way ... but there is forgiveness.. 1john “But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father--Jesus Christ the righteous one” 1John 2:1 2Peter chapter 2 tells us this:
20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are “again entangled” therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known [it], to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog [is] turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire. 1 Timothy 4:1
“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;” 1 Timothy 4:1 I do not believe in the once saved always saved doctrine... but I’m not here to argue over it. Sin will not enter in heaven. I personally believe far too many Christians here on this site believe they can live any way they want and just because they believe in Jesus they will saved. In my opinion, that’s the biggest lie the devil ever told the church...Jesus said,

"And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved."
Matthew 10:22, KJV

"But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved."
Matthew 24:13, KJV

"And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved."
Mark 13:13, KJV. There is some enduring that must be done... I KNOW that Salvation is the FREE gift of God and PLUS NOTHING to receive this precious blood’s atonement, but once forgiven, we must fight a good fight a good fight of faith as Paul spoke of himself doing. There are so many scriptures that show Christians have fallen into sin...✌🏻Yes, “there is a difference in loving sin and not wanting to sin”...Yes, God does judge the intents of the heart ... And thank God for that! The Bible also warns us of apostasy after being enlightened and tasting the good word of God....God bless!

@Silverwings James said in chapter 2. 14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?

15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,

16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?

17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. And I assure you I know one can’t work their way to grace... one can’t buy it and only Jesus and his blood paid the price... but once receiving that grace we must obey HIM!
