Most are opposed to God and salvation, but mankind cannot save himself from the consequences sin brings on him. [Spirituality & Religion]

So how will man save himself? How will he reach heaven, without the saving grace of Jesus, when salvation cannot be earned by good works? Jesus made that clear. Man doesn't even know where God's heaven is, in the universe, so how can he reach it?

if there is a creator, it has a great deal of explaining to do...

i didn’t want to be here. i had no choice...
so why am i into a scenario i didn’t ask for.

the entire scheme of faith is used to keep people in line and going to church.

you have no objective truth...you have faith
@SW-User We won't have all the answers until we see Him face to face, but we do know God is incapable of sinning or mistakes, so while we're here, I'd say we have a lot of explaining to do to Jesus, in while we were yet sinners, he died for us, so we could have eternal life in heaven, instead of leaving us all to go to hell, when it was our sins that put Him on the cross to suffer and die a horrible death. He didn't have to do that. We spit on him, cursed him, beat him to a bloody unrecognizable pulp, mocked him, nailed his hands and feet to a wooden post, and He still didn't hate us. In fact, He asked His Father in heaven to "forgive them, for they know not what they do."

THANK YOU, JESUS, for paying my sin debt!

@SW-User If the entire scheme was to keep people in line and keep them going to church, then tell me why they don't. He knew they wouldn't. So your theory is wrong. God doesnt force people to go to church, any more than he does to rape others, or people to cheat on their spouses. Followers of Christ do not love him out of force or threat. They do it out of love for him and what he has done for them.

3.1 billion believers world wide...
That’s a lot of wallets.
Beware of large groups of ignorant people..

God does nothing...man encourages others to go and participate in churches.

Please note...
There are no “theories”in religion...
You meant to use the word hypothesis.

You do whatever makes you feel better.
I don’t need faith to better my existence.
@LadyGrace
@SW-User Sure is a lot of wallets!! One reason Jesus ran all the money grabbers out of the Temple. Beware of those gullible enough to believe fake/false teachers.

Your second point: Actually, He does. It is the Holy Spirit, who speaks to people's hearts, to want to fellowship together in God's house, and unite with His Spirit.

Third point: There is religion, which is described as nothing but man-made philosophy. That's all it is. Completely worthless and opposite of having a personal relationship with Jesus.

Fourth point: I really don't need, nor am i looking for, your approval or permission to live my life. And you do need faith to better your position, because as it stands, your sins have already separated you from God. Without faith, one cannot find God. Prayer is the key to heaven, but it's faith that unlocks the door.

Your words move me...

To yawn.

I grew up in church...I saw it for what it is..

Don’t be so defensive...
I said what I said regarding “changing your mind”
You missed that point and proceeded to lecture me...

Unfortunate

@LadyGrace
@SW-User Likewise, I'm sure. Defensive? Yes, it was a little irritating to be called an ignorant believer. See your second post. You're quite rude.

Maybe you attended the wrong church. Besides, we don't go by what some of these false churches say. It's what God says that's important. So you didn't check out His Word, instead of believing everything you hear? I just would have thought you'd not allow man to sway you from God, before seeing what God had to say about what they were preaching. First you say IF there's a Creator, then later try to explain what God does and doesn't do. 🤔 What teachings exactly turned you away from God?
SW-User
see the yawn comment.

rude maybe, accurate though.

i grew up in one of the pentecostal strains. however, i’ve been to services from across the spectrum and felt nothing.

humanism is the most honest expression i’ve seen

enough of that

i only debate my equals, others i teach
@LadyGrace
@SW-User Well, I'll leave you with all that prideful "wisdom", but don't forget...pride comes before the fall. Jesus said that, by the way. Your pride only exceeds your arrogance. You can explain to God why you are so sure His believers are ignorant. Good luck with that.
SW-User
The older I get, the less I am certain of...that’s the honest answer.

I don’t have faith in anything.

Be well@LadyGrace
@SW-User That's why Jesus came. So we wouldn't have to guess.

1 John 5:13 - "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God."
SW-User
I know the history pretty well thanks. It’s a fable, but thanks.

Be well@LadyGrace
@SW-User Gosh. You're as stubborn as I am. 😉😂

Take care.

You may have not come here by choice but you are old enough to choose between good and evil, right or wrong, and truth or lie.
