In my opinion, the Bible is a [u]very[/u] important book. It's a cornerstone of the spiritual development of mankind (the New Testament, and the Quran may be considered to be appendices to the Old Testament).
The Bible is not a history book, though. And it isn't a science book either. The concept of history and science were not established [i]in the culture where[/i] the book was written.

@helenS The Bible was written in the fourth century AD. There were massive libraries with history books many centuries before this. Science academies, too. During the dark ages monks systematically destroyed as much knowledge of the ancient world as possible: burning books or bleaching the paper to make more copies of the Bible.

Christianity is about salvation, redemption, guilt, forgiveness, (...).
Science is about angular momentum conservation, spin matrices, planetary orbits (cf. my profile picture 😁).
These things are not mutually exclusive.
To use a picture, people have [u]two[/u] eyes. Using only one, be it the religious one or the scientific one, will render you half-blind.
