Many are now into "Ego Death". And who is teaching you this ego death? We must be careful whom we allow to teach us. Even Satan can place thoughts in our own understanding that seem like our own thoughts of wisdom and understanding, but are not. Satan is the Great Deceiver. What you call "ego death" is what the Bible describes as dying to the sins of the ego and the flesh. Not allowing sinful thoughts and emotions to control us, nor think that we are higher or better than others.
Not all people who do for others, do it to look good to others or in their own eyes. That's very judgemental reasoning. They do it to strictly help others. There are some good people in this world, not driven by ego. God gave us the ability to put evil thoughts, pride, self-righteousness, and selfishness aside, which are nothing but EGO, and put them under submission. And God gave us a conscience to know right from wrong. Ego is a person's sense of self-esteem or self-importance. It is self, trying to think more highly of ourselves, than should be. Or....can even go the other way and have us thinking very poorly of ourselves, but those ideas certainly weren't given by God. They were planted in our mind by Satan.
Jesus said we have need that no man should teach us, because we have the Holy Spirit to teach us things...not flawed man. That is the purpose of the Holy Spirit, but if you do not have the Holy Spirit to guide you, it is only because you have not been born-again. That is, you have not accepted Jesus as your Savior. 1 John chapter 2 verse 27 tells us that the anointing by the Holy Spirit, which you (any born-again Christian) have received of God, abides in you and you have no need that any man teach you, but that the same anointing of the Holy Spirit given to you as a gift from God, teaches you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it has taught you, you shall abide in Him. These foreign to biblical teachings that man seeks his own truth, found only in himself, is a devil's lie, that seeks to lead us astray from God...NOT draw us to Him.
God said that "man cannot be smarter nor wiser than God" NOT because we, as humans, are still lacking control over our emotions and letting go, but because wisdom comes only from God and HIS teachings. Man's reasonings are never better nor wiser than God's, because we have flawed reasoning. God does not. That is why God said not to lean on our own understanding, but to seek instruction and guidance from His perfect Word and the Holy Spirit. "There is a way that seems right unto man, but the end thereof is death." Proverbs 14:12 Meaning physical and spiritual destruction. Those with rampant egos, think way too highly of themselves; that they control everything, when in fact, they should be seeking God and His infinite, perfect wisdom. How egotistic to believe we have all the answers within.
Who are you? You are a spiritual being, having a human experience. You are an expression of God, on earth. You are Divine in your essence, in your core, and you are never separate from God. As Jesus said, the Father and I are one. That means you have access to infinite Divine wisdom, guidance, love, and strength. You have a higher self or inner being, a God connection, that knows exactly what you need and draws you to Him.
Practicing the Law of Attraction simply means consciously and deliberately using our thoughts and feelings to bring more abundance into our lives, in agreement with God's will for our lives. It may be love, health, strength, prosperity or anything else, but it all comes from God. It all originated in Him, and is brought into form through our thinking. It already has been provided for us as part of Creation. What we hold in our hearts and minds, appears in our reality. We are never more spiritual, never more in touch with God, than when we agree with the Divine about our future. His very will, is for us to have hope and brighter future.
