In your opinion, what does it mean to serve God? [Spirituality & Religion]

Look around
there is always a play for power
in some way or another
some are obvious
others not so much
for me
to serve HIM means
to have faith in the process
TRY to live a life above reproach
and it's not easy
one gets "kicked in the teeth" every day
but to fear nothing
and to trust what you know
what you feel
others may not care to know
or get it
or feel it in their heart of hearts
but in the end
you'll be on the side
of the Almightiest power there is
people who say it is about fear have no idea
about the absolute LOVE

To be desperate and clueless.

To serve the desires of others.

First off, which God?

Delusional cultural indoctrination

Bringing him a sandwich and a beer during football games?

waste your life away hoping to get into 'paradise' while the world rots away on hate.

this doesn't cure cancer people...

By following the "Golden Rule", treating others with dignity and respect.

Religions per se don't speak for God, and no single religion holds the key to salvation.

How we treat each other is how we honor, or dishonor, the Almighty. :)

Our service to God is a joyful overflow of the love and joy that we feel in our hearts for Him.  People sense God in us not cause we are nice, kind or because we speak with grace, or when we rise up in true righteous indignation. We know that those actions do not come from us being amazingly wonderful on our own but rather they are the overflow of the time we have spent with our God.

But that is only my opinion.

To be a slave to outdated ignorant dogma

The Christian view of that is to love God with all your heart, and to love your neighbor as yourself.

To be kind to those around you, and to actively try to be a force of Good in the world.

Hanging out at a church and giving a minimum of 10% of your yearly pay

To be used and controlled like a sheep.

To live by his will.
