Non-theists/Apathists /Humanists/Athiests/Agnostics do you believe there's sometimes a time for errr 'thoughts and prayers'? [Spirituality & Religion]

I think even though I don't believe what the mono-theists do, in times of dark struggle, I appreciate their thoughts and prayers directed my way.

it's always nice to know people care

They're only trying to help in the ways they know, and whether it helps or not, it shows they care.

@jomsim
it shows they care.
That, itself, can help.

I would take anyone asking for a divine intercession on my behalf as a very good thing, regardless of my beliefs. Be that to God, Zeus, tiamat, or a flying spaghetti monster
It is good to have good thoughts. And it is the thought/gesture that counts. Especially if followed by action.

No. Actions more than words.

If you say you’ll pray for me then don’t check in... I just know you’re giving me a line.
Redstar · 36-40, M
I don't. What's a bunch of people talking to themselves going to do to help? Nothing.
GodSpeed63 · 70-79, M
You must have some faith that there is a God listening to family and friends prayers since you feel helped.

As a non-believer prayer is a euphemism for reflection and concern for me.
