Why do people argue over the existence of a god? [Spirituality & Religion]

There’s literally nothing you can say that will convince the other person. Besides...who cares if a god exists or not? It’s just your belief. No one has the right to say your belief is wrong.

Because often those that believe feel they are duty bound to try to enlighten those who think otherwise and that a lack of belief by an individual harms the group as a whole. Often those that do not [believe] think the exact same thing[s], but reversed [in reasoning].

@dirge “more better”? It’s just “better.”

@ShaythePanTransMan just a goofiness I like to use. Along with most bestester.

For each side is a sense of value which it's adherents feel is important, arguing only should be seen as fruitless and harmful to one's own personal growth however if common ground isn't sought after.

Some people who are the more hard core believers are always trying to take away people's rights. If they stopped doing that then there would be nothing for me to argue over.

For those who believe, no evidence is required, and for those who don't believe, no evidence is enough ...

@Emosaur You’re exactly right, but I think there’s a difference between criticizing religion and telling someone their belief is wrong, you know? I’m anti-religionist, and I would never tell a theist that they’re wrong. I would also never support their beliefs either because I wish that religion as a whole didn’t exist.
