Angela's Miracle [Spirituality & Religion]

I just want to praise God today, for answered prayer.

My daughter, Angela, has had such a horrible battle with anorexia and was down to only 80 lbs. In case you cannot envision that, she could fit into my 7 year old granddaughter's summer shorts. Angela stands 5' 11".

She abandoned the whole family and cut off all communication, wanting to die, and even had the details of her funeral drawn up and the songs picked out to be sung, as her doctor told her she would be dead by next week, if she kept refusing to eat. Her body had eaten up all her muscles, except her brain and heart. There was nothing there now, but hanging rolls of flesh, from head to toe.

Family and friends prayed for Angela each day, for the last three years,  however, she continued to deteriorate each month. While I was naturally upset and grieved for her as her mother, that I was not able to do anything for her, I knew and always believed in my heart, that God would answer our prayers. I had searched every avenue for help, but no one would cooperate or help.

We do not walk by sight. We walk by faith, so we knew we would not allow Satan to discourage us by what we were seeing. We kept the faith no matter what our eyes were telling us. We knew whatever Satan was showing us, was not what was going on behind the scenes in the spiritual world, after our prayers were offered up.  That's what God's Word says, so we stood on that principal, and kept the faith.

Her doctor gave up on her, called the police to pick her up, since she was a danger to herself and slowly killing herself, and they picked her up and took her to the hospital. She was in ICU for three days, and then taken to her hospital room for six more days, guards constantly around her to make sure she would eat, and not try to kill herself. She was chained to her bed at times, but was not showing violence against them. It was more for her protection. She was released a few days ago.

I am so very happy to report that Angela and I just got off the phone from speaking for 4 1/2 hours, and she told me she realized, after hospitalization, what all the fuss was about and why she needed help, and is getting better and has gained weight. Not many realize that this disease is so cruel and it confuses you so badly, so that is why she could not see that she had lost too much weight and needed help. Most people never recover from this. Angela was never a violent person, but a very sweet and helpful person. She said, "Mom....I'm not going to die." Those are the sweetest words that have ever entered my ears!

All praise and glory goes to God, for without Him, none of this would've happened. I am so grateful. He has never let me down and I knew He wouldn't this time, either. Thank you, Jesus, for answering our prayers. God is not insensitive to our needs. And many thanks to all here, that prayed for her. Her long journey to recovery has just begun, so I would greatly appreciate your continued prayers. Nothing is impossible for God.

PRAISE GOD!!

I'll be keeping your family, and Angela, especially, in my prayers, ladygrace. Thank you for sharing. Thank you for loving your daughter through all of this. Many would cling to anger and bitterness rather than keep hope alive, but God certainly has guided your heart through all of this. It's not likely to be an easy road for your daughter, but it sounds like she's been awakened to truth. This is a huge step forward, and I pray she continues onward in faith, learning to love herself and see herself through the eyes of Jesus.

This is a great day!
