Angela's Miracle [Spirituality & Religion]

I just want to praise God today, for answered prayer.

My daughter, Angela, has had such a horrible battle with anorexia and was down to only 80 lbs. In case you cannot envision that, she could fit into my 7 year old granddaughter's summer shorts. Angela stands 5' 11".

She abandoned the whole family and cut off all communication, wanting to die, and even had the details of her funeral drawn up and the songs picked out to be sung, as her doctor told her she would be dead by next week, if she kept refusing to eat. Her body had eaten up all her muscles, except her brain and heart. There was nothing there now, but hanging rolls of flesh, from head to toe.

Family and friends prayed for Angela each day, for the last three years,  however, she continued to deteriorate each month. While I was naturally upset and grieved for her as her mother, that I was not able to do anything for her, I knew and always believed in my heart, that God would answer our prayers. I had searched every avenue for help, but no one would cooperate or help.

We do not walk by sight. We walk by faith, so we knew we would not allow Satan to discourage us by what we were seeing. We kept the faith no matter what our eyes were telling us. We knew whatever Satan was showing us, was not what was going on behind the scenes in the spiritual world, after our prayers were offered up.  That's what God's Word says, so we stood on that principal, and kept the faith.

Her doctor gave up on her, called the police to pick her up, since she was a danger to herself and slowly killing herself, and they picked her up and took her to the hospital. She was in ICU for three days, and then taken to her hospital room for six more days, guards constantly around her to make sure she would eat, and not try to kill herself. She was chained to her bed at times, but was not showing violence against them. It was more for her protection. She was released a few days ago.

I am so very happy to report that Angela and I just got off the phone from speaking for 4 1/2 hours, and she told me she realized, after hospitalization, what all the fuss was about and why she needed help, and is getting better and has gained weight. Not many realize that this disease is so cruel and it confuses you so badly, so that is why she could not see that she had lost too much weight and needed help. Most people never recover from this. Angela was never a violent person, but a very sweet and helpful person. She said, "Mom....I'm not going to die." Those are the sweetest words that have ever entered my ears!

All praise and glory goes to God, for without Him, none of this would've happened. I am so grateful. He has never let me down and I knew He wouldn't this time, either. Thank you, Jesus, for answering our prayers. God is not insensitive to our needs. And many thanks to all here, that prayed for her. Her long journey to recovery has just begun, so I would greatly appreciate your continued prayers. Nothing is impossible for God.

PRAISE GOD!!

This is extremely disturbing to me. First off, I’m really glad your daughter is getting better. Secondly, in addition to praying to god (I understand that’s important to you so I’m not saying don’t do it), you should have done what that doctor did. That doctor and the hospital are who saved her. She wouldn’t have come to without what that doctor did for her, even if god helped her too. Actions save people, not sitting idly by and praying.

@ShaythePanTransMan Oh, there are always naysayers. Never giving God credit for anything. Even the doctor admitted she could not help her any longer or save her. Nothing could save her because she refused all help. God is definitely the one that saved her. Even her organs had shut down. She could have just left the hospital and not did one more thing and let herself die, but God broke through this horrible disease in her mind that told her to die and not ever eat. That's something even the doctors could not do and her doctor told her she does not specialize in these things and cannot help her. God is the one that changed Angela's mind and attitude about this. Believe what you want, but I know that my God saved my daughter.

@ShaythePanTransMan Further, the doctor did nothing for her. She was locked up and they tried to force feed her but she would not eat very much. The doctor gave her no medicine, did not see her, and she got out only because she begin eating. But even that was forced. God changed her mind, just as we prayed He would. Now she is eating.

@LadyGrace You got that right, sister. God is real and still performs miracles today. If you will, take a look at my posting on the Case For Miracles.

@ShaythePanTransMan Of course actions help too and we are expected to take action, but Angela never would. We tried every avenue. It was only God that pulled her through. You cannot force someone to take action at her age when they don't want to. You do not know her, me, our family, or what all everyone went through, especially Angela.

@LadyGrace Okay, now I fully understand the story and see I was wrong. I originally thought you prayed without taking any sort of action to help her. I hope God keeps your family in his heart.

@LadyGrace You’re welcome.

@ShaythePanTransMan Even though I knew my daughter would hate me, I called the police way before that doctor did, in a last attempt to save her life. I had to call them three times to get them to come out and they would not come out. Then a friend of mine said she would try and they finally came out. But they would not help her. They would not take her away to get her help. They we're so stupid. They said well she has to show that she wants to harm herself before we can take her away. And I said well she is a threat to herself because she is slowly killing herself, you can see that! And sure enough they saw how skinny she was and they agreed with me, but still would not take her away to get help.

@LadyGrace Wow, what horrible police....
LadyGrace · 80-89
@ShaythePanTransMan No doubt. I had even called the suicide hotline and they would not even help me. They told me to call the police, which I did, and then they would not even help. I called the different ranches that help anorexic kids, and they told me they don't accept adults. ??????
I called hospitals and they told me they don't accept people her age and they do not accept Medicare or Medicaid. It was nuts!

@LadyGrace I’m sorry, that’s really terrible.
