OK, I watched it, but it didn't convince me. The universe is not finely tuned to suit human life, it's not only Christians that have a moral compass and can demonstrate altruism, it's not only Christians that have found peace and contentment. I know you will disagree with me, but that's fine. I just ask that you keep an open mind and accept that other people's opinions and beliefs are equally as valid as your own.

@Bushranger Can you state what your degrees are to convince me of your knowledge that finely tuned universe is not needed for life please?

@Carazaa I'll admit to having no background in cosmology, but do have a background in the physical and social sciences. But, that is not completely necessary to be able to read and grasp the the concepts in published research.

I'll also admit that my access to research papers is now limiting to what can be found on the internet. But again, that's not really an impediment.

I accept that you prefer the comfort of your faith, but accepting that humans are not the pinnacle of life does not necessarily challenge faith in God.

@Bushranger

OK so I believe after researching that a very perfect universe is necessary for life to existlike Dr Collin said. Therefore a God is evident.

@Carazaa The range of the values that are supposedly finely tuned are quite large, when they are actually looked at. Take, for example, the habitable zone is between 0.99 and 1.7 astronomical units (AU). This equates to something like a 106,214,580 km range. Not all that big in astronomical terms but large, just the same. Especially considering that earth's perihelion is only about 1.02 AU, not a huge margin of error.

But, as I stated previously, I'm not an expert in this field, but do have the ability to find the information. With much of the intelligent design material out there, it seems that misinformation and even at times, deception put forth as fact.
Carazaa · F
@Bushranger Not true. You are trying to prove that there is a possibility there is no God, and that is illogical.
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@Carazaa I've never denied the possibility of God. What I do deny is the use of quote mining and misinformation by people in authority with the intent to mislead others.
Carazaa · F
@Bushranger Yes that is what many do instead of just admitting that there might be a God. How simple is that to say. Thank you!
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@Carazaa But don't forget that I still don't believe any God or Gods exist.
Carazaa · F
@Bushranger Isn't that a little close minded 🙂
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@Carazaa Not at all. I bet there's lots of things you don't believe in.
