I'm an atheist and I live in a very catholic community, how can I be open about my beliefs without them throwing holy holy water at me? [Spirituality & Religion]

I'm in a similar situation. I'm not as open as I would like to be, but mostly I just behave like I am a guest in someone's home. I try my best to be polite and considerate with my opinions, what I say, etc. You kind of learn how to be comfortable and more open over time. I'm still figuring it out myself.
Also, you'll find people who believe the same things you do, or aren't bothered by your lack of religion, which is always cool.
