I don’t need proof. People will still have undeniable proof & choose to poo-poo it away. I don’t care what other people believe... I know God is real.
I know god is real-

Publish and claim your Nobel...

You know nothing. You have faith.

Perhaps some require a higher standard of evidence.

@ blankpage
I know God..,& perhaps if you knew God, your page wouldn’t be blank.

Yes I have faith... which goes beyond the concept of evidence.

I don’t need a Nobel.
Faith stops well before evidence. Use your words correctly.

Maybe not a Nobel, however some high school science would be beneficial @MsMontgomery

@Texasgurl you Poor thing...
Faith is something that requires NO evidence.
They don’t teach you that in science class... just so ya know.

Your mind seems as blank as your page... so I hope you learn about God one day so that people who believe in Him won’t intimidate you so much.

Goodnight.

Amen, sister, amen.

Faith is something you require because you have no evidence

Faith is merely pretending to know something that you do not in fact know.

@newjaninev2
Faith is merely pretending to know something that you do not in fact know.
1Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1 I don't need to see Yahweh to know that He's there, His Spirit lives within me.
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@GodSpeed63 Well, at least you agree with my characterisation of faith. :-)

@MsMontgomery
I know God is real.
You might believe that but others can say they know your god isn't real with equal conviction.
MsMontgomery · 51-55, F
@suzie1960 That’s true.

Even with all the education I have, with no tangible evidence, God has shown me many times over the years that He is there.
We all have our own lives to live. But as a Christian, it’s my duty to never deny knowing God... & to keep praying for those who don’t know Him.

I thought that too when I was a christian. Whenever any thing good happened, any fortuitous event or co-incidence, I attributed it to "god". In the end, however, I realised I was just fooling myself and reading the bible convinced me of that. If it works for you, fair enough but it's not for me.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@suzie1960
I was a christian.
Still believing in that fantasy huh?
MsMontgomery · 51-55, F
[@suzie I hope one day You give God a chance. Noone’s Life is perfect. And good things happen to terribly bad people too. Faith is believing no matter what.
suzie1960 · 61-69, F
@GodSpeed63 No fantasy, no matter how much it annoys you, it remains the truth. :)
suzie1960 · 61-69, F
@MsMontgomery I did, more than once. As Lord Summerisle in The Wicker Man said, "He can't complain. He had his chance and, in modern parlance, blew it."

As a christian (despite all @GodSpeed63's wishful thinking that I wasn't), I studied the bible intently. That is what really convinced me it was nothing more than a collection of myths and superstitions mostly copied from various older belief systems. As you say, faith is believing no matter what, including in the face of hard evidence that your beliefs are factually in error.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@suzie1960
No fantasy, no matter how much it annoys you, it remains the truth
It is a fantasy being that you never received Christ as your personal Lord and Savior according to your own testimony. Going to church doesn't make you a Christian anymore than going to McDonald's makes you a hamburger.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@suzie1960
As a christian
Fantasizing again, I see. When a true Christian studies the Word of God, it becomes life to him/her and they understand it perfectly through His Holy Spirit of Truth that dwells within them. John 16 gives this testimony of the Spirit's work in a true Christian. Playing Christian doesn't do anything for you. You were playing Christian and not being one. There's a difference.
suzie1960 · 61-69, F
@GodSpeed63 You keeping denying the truth but you can't change it. The tired old "no true Scotsman" fallacy doesn't work here, you may as well give it up.
I know spiderman is real too. He has his own books too.

@GodSpeed63

@Texasgurl So is Harry Potter, not only does he have books, they refer to actual places like London and King's Cross station. What more proof can anyone want?
Harry! Brilliant!@Sharon

That’s a perfect example of the ‘No True Scotsman’ fallacy
