I believe in God, maybe not as an old man sitting up in the sky, looking at us, but as a supernatural energy that exists in everything and is contained of all... A whole Devine...

But the point is the function of sciense is not to prove anything but to bring facts to disprove a theory ...

When the Vatican allowed the painting of God as an old man on the Sistine Chapel they were actually breaking the second commandment in making an image of God.

@Pfuzylogic I do not think a painting is a "graven image" or breaks the second commandment. The painting on the Sistine Chapel ceiling is not an idol in my humble opinion.

It's been doing a job disproving evolution. After all, the Lord God is its Author.

@Pfuzylogic I agree but that painting is not an idol or a graven image and is not being bowed down to or worshipped as far as I am aware. I am not trying to undermine your faith btw, just calling it as I see.

My Faith is based on my salvation through Jesus. The painting on the wall is ancillary to anything. You can believe it isn’t shaken through this discussion.
I figured I would eventually have to declare Jesus in this thread.

The thing is that art has its own function too... it must be done with responsibilities, and creating an image of God like that is not a responsible art, even if that is a masterpiece...

What I mean is playing with the humans mind on such a huge matter..

The painting of an old man to represent God I find wrong. There is no basis for it.
I have seen images of Moses in the Hebrew Faith but that is totally different.
