One day we will know...but I think it's better to believe he exists than believe there is nothing...the fact we are here and we are alive is proof to me that our life goes on forever...

@Platinum
but I think it's better to believe he exists than believe there is nothing..
Which god? You could find yourself in very serious trouble if you've picked the wrong one. As there are several thousand potential candidates, the probability of selecting the "right" one is next to non-existent. You're better off remaining neutral. ;)
Platinum · M
There is only one god who is a higher being ....I won't change I've read so much on the subject and with so many different ideas and what others believe, I've worked out what I believe is true and the only logical way we live and die, meaning crossing over and then returning and starting a new life...I could be wrong, but we can't change what happens...it's so much nicer to think life goes on...@Sharon
redredred · M
No. One day each and every one of us will close our eyes for the last time and know nothing, ever again. The question will never be resolved. @Platinum
Platinum · M
@redredred you don't know that.....how did you come to that solution...I will never try to convince anyone that I'm right because if you believe like you do that there is nothing , then explain why we are born and live and then die, what is the point...
Sharon · F
@Platinum
explain why we are born and live and then die, what is the point...
Possibly no point at all. Why do you think there needs to be one?
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@Sharon
Possibly no point at all. Why do you think there needs to be one?
It gives life in this world meaning and to the people, hope for the future.
Platinum · M
@Sharon the point is us being born is a miracle and living your life is also a miracle, so why is it so hard to believe that life goes on...
Sharon · F
@GodSpeed63 You can believe that if it helps you but it's all just an illusion.
Sharon · F
@Platinum
the point is us being born is a miracle
In what way is it a miracle? Life is really just a set of complex chemical reactions. The question I asked is why do you think there needs to be a point to life. Why can it not simply be that life exists?
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@Sharon
You can believe that if it helps you but it's all just an illusion.
Why should I believe you? What source are you drawing your conclusion from?
Sharon · F
@GodSpeed63
Why should I believe you?
For the same reason you expect others to believe you - because it's "the truth" (tm).
What source are you drawing your conclusion from?
The simple fact that there is no evidence whatsoever that it's anything other than an illusion. Before you ask for evidence, remember I just pointed out there isn't any so, unless you can produce some (which, thus far you've repeatedly failed to do), the default position stands.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@Sharon
For the same reason you expect others to believe you - because it's "the truth" (tm).
You still haven't given evidence for it unlike me.
The simple fact that there is no evidence
There's plenty of evidence that God lives. You refuse to see it.

There's no one more blind than those who refuse to see God's Truth or anyone more deaf than those who refuse to hear God's Truth.
Sharon · F
@GodSpeed63
You still haven't given evidence for it unlike me.
Wrong! You've falsely claimed to have presented evidence, that's not the same as actually presenting it. If you have presented any you would be able to say where or, at the very least present it again. Let's see you present it here now - or do the decent thing and admit you don't have any.
There's plenty of evidence that God lives. You refuse to see it.
Where? Is your made up god trying to claim credit for The Flying Spaghetti Monster's great creation?
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@Sharon
Wrong!
Won't wash.
Where?
The mirror for one. I told you before, you're living proof that Yahweh lives.
Sharon · F
@GodSpeed63
Won't wash.
Of course you say that, you just refuse to face facts. No surprises there.
The mirror for one. I told you before, you're living proof that Yahweh lives.
So your made up god is trying to claim credit for The Flying Spaghetti Monster's great creation. I thought so.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@Sharon
Of course you say that, you just refuse to face facts. No surprises there.
How can I face facts that are not there?
So your made up God
You still haven't shown that He's made up.
Sharon · F
@GodSpeed63
How can I face facts that are not there?
The facts are there, you just choose to ignore them.
You still haven't shown that he's made up.
You repeatedly do that for me by claiming it's real but failing to produce any real evidence to support that belief. Every time you make that clearly false claim you weaken your case and strengthen mine. Thank you for that.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@Sharon
The facts are there, you just choose to ignore them.
The facts are there and I don't ignore them. I recognize them for what they truly are, obviously you don't recognize them.
You repeatedly do that for me by claiming it's real
That's no excuse. You just don't have any evidence to support your claims and are too proud to admit it.
Sharon · F
@GodSpeed63
You just don't have any evidence to support your claims and are too proud to admit it.
I don't need evidence to prove the non-existence of something that hasn't been shown to exist. When you produce some evidence to support your claim, I'll try to refute it. Deal?
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@Sharon
I don't need evidence to prove the non-existence
Yeah, you do. Otherwise, you're opinions can't hold water.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Sharon The fact is you can not disprove the existence of God. It is a fool's errand to even try.
Sharon · F
@hippyjoe1955 You can't prove the non-existence of Russell's Teapot either. Is that a good reason to believe it's real?
Sharon · F
@GodSpeed63
Yeah, you do. Otherwise, you're opinions can't hold water.
Wrong again. You need to prove the existence of your god, otherwise it's just your worthless opinion which, as you admit, can't hold water. :)
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@Sharon
Wrong again.
You don't have a shred of evidence, do you? In that case, you're lying to yourself, lying to others, and lying to God, Yahweh.
CookieLuvsBunny · 31-35, F
@GodSpeed63
There are about 3,000 gods that people believe in as represented by all the various religions. You don't believe in 2,999 of them. I just believe in 1 less than you do
