Why don't you believe that Jesus rose from the dead? [Spirituality & Religion]

Because you know, as did most of the people of his time, that this is impossible?

Because his devastated and disappointed followers, who were cowering in fear after the execution, did not suddenly get inspiration to go to the ends of the earth (risking and giving up their lives) to proclaim that he did indeed rise from the dead?

Because I ain't Christian and I don't care about Jesus
@midnightsun That's a non-answer. Jesus is a historical figure. Why do you believe that he did not rise from the dead?

Faith (being a Christian) only comes if you believe that he rose from the dead (as St. Paul said if Christ did not rise from the dead " then our Faith is in vain").

Belief in whether he did rise does not depend on faith.

You have it backwards.

@beckychandler Maybe he was just in a coma.
@MrBrownstone That is one of the ways that some skeptics have tried to get around the rather compelling documentary reports that he was as dead as a door-nail.

Dan Brown latched onto one of these in The DaVinci Code --recovered, married Mary Magdalene, they sailed to Southern France and founded a dynasty.

@beckychandler Reports can be wrong.
