What does natural disaster has to do with punishement of our sins? [Spirituality & Religion]

I give an example.
An earthquake, tsunami, wildfire. Some people tend to blame it towards non - believers. I mean, come on.
Give me scientific relation between these two things.

I remember homophobics blame lgbtq community for disasters happen in their place. You know, they quoted bibical from story of "Sodom and Gommorah."

Huhh.

PS: Global warming is happening, why don't blame ourselves for corrupting our planet. Sigh.

No, they are not
I am a Christian, and there are fanatics in every segment of society who will see what they want in things. The raliens thought that comet Kahotec was a space ship coming to pick them up so they sold everything and went to a hill top to be picked up.
It's not just fanatical religious Christians who think these things.
Natural disasters are real, and God charged us with being stewards of this planet, which we have utterly failed at. So, yes, aside from the natural workings of the climate cycles, our appetite for gluttony and over harvesting, clearing of the forests and pollution have all played into this poor earth not being able to filter and keep things on an even keel
