If you ask a preacher a question about something he just preached, and he says 'I was just preaching the word.'... [Spirituality & Religion]

Does that mean everything he said was supposed to be straight from God, and therefore unabe to be enquired about? Or is it just really bad manners to ask questions about something that was preached?

I'd say it usually means he doesn't know how to explain it any better

@GJOFJ3 OK, maybe they don't teach in seminary how to explain things to the common people.

@purplepen maybe, but sometimes the preacher is just reading a script and doesn't understand it any better than you

@purplepen Jesus said the true gospel should be taught so even a child could understand it.
