Is it logically possible that the Bible is not true with all the fulfilled prophesies? [Spirituality & Religion]

The Bible is God's word and there are so many prophesies that have been fulfilled.

A Statistical Improbability

Some Bible scholars suggest there are more than 300 prophetic Scriptures completed in the life of Jesus. Circumstances such as his birthplace, lineage, and method of execution were beyond his control and could not have been accidentally or deliberately fulfilled.

In the book Science Speaks, Peter Stoner and Robert Newman discuss the statistical improbability of one man, whether accidentally or deliberately, fulfilling just eight of the prophecies Jesus fulfilled. The chance of this happening, they say, is 1 in 1017 power. Stoner gives an illustration that helps visualize the magnitude of such odds:

Suppose that we take 1017 silver dollars and lay them on the face of Texas. They will cover all of the state two feet deep. Now mark one of these silver dollars and stir the whole mass thoroughly, all over the state. Blindfold a man and tell him that he can travel as far as he wishes, but he must pick up one silver dollar and say that this is the right one. What chance would he have of getting the right one? Just the same chance that the prophets would have had of writing these eight prophecies and having them all come true in any one man, from their day to the present time, providing they wrote using their own wisdom.

The mathematical improbability of 300, or 44, or even just eight fulfilled prophesies of Jesus stands as evidence to his messiahship.

You only claim those proohesies are fulfilled if you take the incredible leap and believe jesus is the divine son of god, a strongly mythical load of crap.

Prove that and your prophesies might mean something.
Carazaa · F
@redredred Well I can't prove that, but I believe He is God in the flesh because of the fulfilled prophesies written thousands of years before he was born. And he said he was divine and proved it with his miracles.

I believe the Bible is the inspired word of God, and I believe everything in the Bible pointed to Jesus the sacrificed lamb, even in the old testament.

The Jews were told by God to sacrifice a ram on Passover and put a cross on their doors so their first born would not be killed by the "angel of death" that was coming to all the Egyptian households who enslaved them.. The angel would pass over their households. It was a symbol of the ultimate sacrifice, Jesus, who shed his blood on the cross for the world, at Easter. Jesus said and proved He is God with his miracles.

And He answers my prayers too, and if you love him you will be "passed over" and Jesus will take your sins on his shoulders, and you will live in heaven forever. Cool huh?

It's no load of crap!.
redredred · M
its circular reasoning. You believe he's god because of the prophesies but those prophesies are only prophetic if he is god. Don't you see the circular nature if this? It's a grade school fallacy. Its bullshit.@Carazaa
Carazaa · F
@redredred I understand that some don't believe, but there is no way people could have come up with the future events in the bible. only God knows the future. Also the apostles would not have died witnessing a lie. they and hundreds more saw him rising from the dead, and divide history in two before Christ, after Christ, BC and AD. the world is celebrating Easter this week. It changed my life and has helped me so much. I care about people and just want you to go to heaven.
redredred · M
It is logically just as viable to assert those future events never happened. You think they did because you believe Jesus was the messiah but lots more people don't and, by your own admission you can't prove anything.

@redredred
You only claim those prophesies are fulfilled if you take the incredible leap and believe Jesus is the divine son of god, a strongly mythical load of crap.
God doesn't have to prove himself to anybody. He left us all the evidence we need to know that He lives. What you need to do is show evidence that what you say is true.
When you keep your appointment with God on Judgement Day, you won’t be so brave to call it bull**** to His face. You are not smarter nor wiser than God, though you think you are. God will not be mocked. Here’s prophecy at its best:

Every one of those prophesies that we’re supposed to be fulfilled to this date, have been fulfilled. Just read the Bible and you’ll see the record kept. And Jesus can be proved. You just refuse to see the evidence. I know Jesus is real. I just watched Him heal my friend of cancer! But of course, no matter what ANYONE would present to you as evidence, you’d be sure to find fault with it. You don’t need proof. You need FAITH and JESUS. God makes the rules, not you.

@LadyGrace Thank you for sharing this!
Amen, sister!! @Carazaa
redredred · M
No, no, no, thats not how logic works and I'm not surprised you dont know that. Logic works like this; the burden of proof is on the one who makes the extraordinary claims. You claim an invisible sky-friends created everything and grants wishes if you talk to him nicely. Thats an extraordinary claim, prove it.@GodSpeed63
redredred · M
Prove one of those claims, I dare you. You are deluded by a bronze age myth@LadyGrace
Sharon · F
@redredred What @GodSpeed63 says is no different from expecting him to produce evidence that every other supernatural being he doesn't believe in doesn't really exist. I bet he can't.
@redredred
Prove that and your prophesies might mean something.
Who are you, to tempt the Lord? This is not a drive-by-the-road side show. Jesus didn’t even allow Satan to tempt Him, so who are you, to do so. Don’t insult God. Jesus is Lord. He doesn’t have to prove anything to us. He already has in hundreds of ways. You have but to open your eyes, but since you’ve already made up your mind that you’re certain God is a myth, you’ll not see His mighty hand. Without the Spirit of God in you, you cannot see the things of the spirit in this world. But you can see His fingerprints all over the place.

God is trying to show you things, but your stubborn heart won’t allow that, so what do you expect? All you’ve got to do to see that the prophecies we speak of that were fulfilled in the Bible are true, is look them up! Don’t be lazy! Do your own homework, like everyone else...don’t expect everyone to do it for you. This is a personal journey in finding God. Don’t rely on others. Search it out for yourself, then you’ll know and won’t have this constant guessing of what is real and true, and what isn’t. Every person who wants to know God, has questions about God. They are there to peak your interest and find out the truth, so your spirit can be satisfied. They are there, to build your faith, but you’ll never find God, if all you want to do is criticize people. Anyone can use that tactic, but if you’re truly wanting proof of God and God, Himself.....if you truly have a thirst for God, you’ll do anything and everything to seek Him out and find Him, like every other follower of Christ.
@GodSpeed63 Exactly!!!!
redredred · M
So prove it. Produce proof acceptable in small claims court. That should be easy for you.@LadyGrace
Carazaa · F
@redredredI think if you read the entire Bible. Cover to cover, then you will understand that it is a book from God to humans. God is not a liar who will tell us lies to make us feel good, no he tells us who we are. We are sinners, and He is Holy. If this book was written by men don't you think the stories would be a little more flattering on us. But they are not. God killed everyone except 8 because we are sinful. God says that the reason people don't want to know the truth is because they don't want to admit and take responsibility for their sins. People love their sins, so they deny God. Well at least that is Gods words. I keep going back to logic, but its not logic we are talking about. God reminds us that it is sin, that is the reason people deny God!
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@redredred
No, no, no, that's not how logic works and I'm not surprised you dont know that.
Human logic is not logic at all. To enlighten you on what true logic is, both sides have the burden of proof. I asked you for evidence, now let's see it.
Carazaa · F
@Sharon @redredred

Besides the prophesies in the old testament all coming true in Jesus as I posted here. What about these three,

1. Look at what God said He would do in Damascus. They attacked Jerusalem and God said "I will make Damascus, Syria a heap of rubble," and the inhabitants will flee. That was spoken 3ooo years ago.

2. What about what Jesus said would happen to Jews. You will be scattered all over the world and have no homeland until the last days you will get your land back . That happened 1948.

3. What about when God said the country who's God is THE LORD will be blessed. Look at all the Christian countries. The whole world wants to live in the Christian countries. But after God made them rich they are forgetting about God. But look at how hard even those countries have it now. He says that the country who forgets God will be taken over by their enemies. Is that happening anywhere? No one is complaining that they are scared of all the refugees right? I personally think we have to love them, but this is not a popular thing.
redredred · M
Look you can spout all the bullshit you like but logic is logic and you dont get to make the rules. I dont have to disprove the Easter bunny or Sant Claus. Anyone asserting the existence of these entities or your invisible sky friend bears the burden of proof.@GodSpeed63
Human reasoning is not above God’s reasoning. He doesn’t think like you. He is not limited by you, or time or space. Man doesn’t rule in the spiritual world. It is a world of the supernatural. Beyond your control. @redredred
redredred · M
Human reasoning is obviously beyond you. As such it seems clear you shouldn't try to use quotes from your silly book to make your point@LadyGrace
That’s odd. God is right before your doubtful eyes, yet you can’t even recognize Him, because you’re not interested in finding Jesus. Just criticizing people who have. @redredred
redredred · M
Throughout human history, 40,000 entities have been worshipped as gods. One of them, Mithra, was born of a virgin on December 25th and died for your sins, so we're told, about a hundred years before your jesus was born.

Of these 40,000, i just believe in one fewer than you do. @LadyGrace
I only believe in one. Read my true story next week and there should be no doubt in your mind that God is real, alive, and in the miracle business. @redredred
redredred · M
I dont believe in fairy tales or bronze age myths based on an error-filled book of nonsense.@LadyGrace
