Why do people get into atheism? [Spirituality & Religion]

I few years ago I moved town and I started hanging round with Atheists. I guess I was just trying to fit in I guess but pretty soon I decided I didnt like being Atheist and it made me feel silly. Looking back, it was justa phase I was going through. Why do atheists do it?

We are all born atheists and then some children are indoctrinated into various religions and belief systems.

If you do not teach a child about gods, in these enlightened times they will never have cause or need to believe in them.

Personally I've never understood why anyone would follow obviously made up religions designed to control an uneducated populace.
