Why do people get into atheism? [Spirituality & Religion]

I few years ago I moved town and I started hanging round with Atheists. I guess I was just trying to fit in I guess but pretty soon I decided I didnt like being Atheist and it made me feel silly. Looking back, it was justa phase I was going through. Why do atheists do it?

Atheism to me is a pill against a contagion that seeks to kill me, iow's convert. It's something i just take when i need it, i perhaps od'ed on it a few years ago .... as to why, they may be validly concerned with the harm that beliefs cause, as with extreme versions, or as with me see it plainly as a poison that infects, and is then a part of one some of the time and is all complicated, a detached viewpoint cancels out any need for carrying any hard line about it or it's opposite. iow's, apathy, a numbness.
