Should religion be banned? [Spirituality & Religion]

With all the fighting and purging in the name of religion....is religion causing more harm than good? And should it be banned?

Can't ban belief, lest we become a dystopian authoritarian society under a dogma that one must only believe in x or y.

Then we would become like the old religious societies themselves, but without the meaning it held to the people who followed it.
